Elon (formerly known as Elon College) is a town in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Burlington, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The current population estimate (2008) is 7,060. The town of Elon is home to Elon University. The town was called "Elon College" until the college known as Elon College became Elon University. The town then changed its name officially to Elon. Downtown Elon is home to The Shops at Elon.

Burlington Athletic Stadium
Burlington Athletic Stadium (former Godfrey Schmieder Field) is a vintage baseball stadium in the central North Carolina Piedmont city of Burlington. It seats 3500 and serves as home field for the minor league Burlington Royals of the rookie Appalachian League. Originally built in Danville, Virginia, it was reconstructed in 1958 after being dismantled and moved south from its original home.

Rhodes Stadium
Rhodes Stadium is a 13,100-seat multi-purpose stadium in Elon, North Carolina. Named for trustee Dusty Rhodes, his wife, Peggy, and their family, the stadium opened in 2001 and is home to the Elon University Phoenix football team. Zack’s Hotdogs is a local restaurant in Burlington, North Carolina. It was opened by Zack Touloupas in 1928 with its original name of Alamance Hot Wienie Lunch. The menu began as a blue plate special, but over the years has been changed to focus on hotdogs and hamburgers. The menu has also been expanded to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Zack’s used to be open seven days a week, but is now closed on Sundays.

Ace Speedway
ACE Speedway is a 4/10(.400)Mile Oval in Elon, NC, The track opened in 1956 as a 1/3 mile dirt oval and was expanded to a 3/8 mile dirt oval and in 1990, the track was paved and was under the NASCAR Winston Racing Series banner. In 1999, the track was re-expanded to a 4/10 mile paved oval, the pits was expanded and other stuff was added to the track.
