Pleasantville is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 7,019 at the 2010 census. It is located in the town of Mount Pleasant. Thornwood (Metro-North station)
Thornwood was a station on the Harlem Line of the Metro-North Railroad which served the residents of the hamlet of Thornwood, New York until its closure in 1984. During its existence, the station was one of the most lightly used on the Harlem Line. Prior to closing it had only half the weekday service of the neighboring Hawthorne and Pleasantville stations, and was merely a flag stop for four trains on weekends.

The Battle of Young's House was a skirmish fought outside New York City between British and American forces on February 3, 1780 during the American Revolutionary War. A British force attacked and destroyed a Continental Army outpost in Westchester County, New York.
2006 Westchester County tornado
The 2006 Westchester County tornado was the strongest and largest tornado in the history of Westchester County, New York. It touched down there on July 12, 2006 and traveled 13 miles into southwestern Connecticut during a 33-minute span through two states. The tornado touched down at 3:30 p.m. EDT on the shore of the Hudson River before becoming a waterspout and traveling 3 mi across the river.
