Westchester Country Club
The Westchester Country Club (or Westchester Biltmore Country Club) was founded by John McEntee Bowman, who hired Walter Travis to design two golf courses in the Town of Harrison, New York as a luxury resort hotel. The West Course was designed for championship play and has hosted PGA tournaments since 1963. The South Course was originally designed for women and higher handicap golfers.

During the spring and summer months, the Playland amusement park is accessible from the station via the seasonal 75-Playland route on the Bee-Line Bus System; this service provides a sizeable source of additional ridership in non-peak hours. For many years, Rye was the eastern Westchester County station for Amtrak, until it was replaced by New Rochelle in October 1987.

Dragon Coaster (Playland)
The Dragon Coaster, Playland Amusement Park's iconic attraction, in Rye, New York, is a wooden roller coaster that was opened in 1929. It was designed and built by legendary amusement ride creator Fred Church, who also was the co-inventor of the Racing Derby, another famous early 20th century amusement park ride. The Dragon Coaster has approximately 3,400 feet of track and is, at its highest, approximately 80 feet tall.

This historic district includes the surviving remnant of the 400-acre Jay estate where New York State's only native born Founding Father, John Jay, (December 12, 1745 – May 17, 1829) grew up as a boy. He returned to his parents' home throughout his illustrious career to be with his family.
