Sleepy Hollow, New York
Sleepy Hollow is a village in the town of Mount Pleasant in Westchester County, New York, United States. It is located on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, about 30 miles north of midtown Manhattan in New York City, and is served by the Philipse Manor stop on the Metro-North Hudson Line. Originally known as North Tarrytown, it was given its current name in 1996 when residents voted to have it changed to honor the Washington Irving story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, New York, is the resting place of numerous famous figures, including Washington Irving, whose story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is set in the adjacent Old Dutch Burying Ground. Incorporated in 1849 as Tarrytown Cemetery, it posthumously honored Irving's request that it change its name to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
Philipse Manor (Metro-North station)
The Philipse Manor Metro-North Railroad station serves residents of Sleepy Hollow, New York, United States, via the Hudson Line. Trains leave for New York City every 25 to 35 minutes on weekdays. It is 25.7 miles from Grand Central Terminal and travel time to Grand Central is as little as 38 minutes, with some locals taking 57 minutes. Trains of electric multiple units serve the station.
Tarrytown (Metro-North station)
The Tarrytown Metro-North Railroad station serves residents of Tarrytown, New York and other commuters via the Hudson Line and is one of four express stations on that line south of Croton–Harmon seeing most trains minus peak hour trains to/from Poughkeepsie. Trains leave for New York City every 25 to 35 minutes on weekdays. It is 24.5 miles from Grand Central Terminal and travel time to Grand Central is about 44 minutes (35 minutes express).
North Tarrytown Assembly
The North Tarrytown Assembly was an automobile factory in North Tarrytown, New York now known as Sleepy Hollow. Originally opened by the Stanley Steam Car Company in 1896, the plant was acquired by Maxwell-Briscoe in 1903 from the Ingersoll-Rand Drill Company. In 1913 Maxwell-Briscoe became just Maxwell. Separate portions of the complex were acquired by Chevrolet in 1914 and 1915. At this time Chevrolet was an independent company and not yet part of General Motors.

The Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Dutch Reformed Church (Sleepy Hollow), is a 17th century stone church located on Albany Post Road in Sleepy Hollow, New York, United States. It and its five-acre (2 ha) churchyard feature prominently in Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". The churchyard is often confused with the contiguous but separate Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
Christ Episcopal Church (Tarrytown, New York)
Christ Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at 43 South Broadway in Tarrytown, New York. Topped by a modest tower, the ivy-covered red brick church was built in 1837 and maintains an active congregation to the present day. The church also includes the San Marcos Mission, a Spanish-language ministry. It was recognized as a landmark by the New York Department of Education in 1935.
Pocantico Hills, New York
Pocantico Hills is a hamlet in the town of Mount Pleasant, New York, northeast of the village of Sleepy Hollow and southwest of the village of Pleasantville. The area was originally settled by native Americans of the Wecquaesgeek tribes; "Pocantico" means "running between two hills," and the name is a reference to the meandering Pocantico River.
New Croton aqueduct
The New Croton aqueduct, built roughly parallel to the Old Croton aqueduct was constructed to provide a large steady water supply for New York City. The aqueduct opened on July 15, 1890. It runs from the New Croton reservoir in Westchester County to the Jerome Park Reservoir in The Bronx, from which it distributes water to certain areas of the Bronx and Manhattan before emptying into Tunnel 1 of the Catskill/Delaware System.
Foster Memorial AME Zion Church
The Foster Memorial AME Zion Church is located on Wildey Avenue in Tarrytown, New York, United States. Formed in 1860, it is the oldest black church in Westchester County and possibly one of the oldest in the state. During the Civil War it was a stop on the Underground Railroad. One of the church's founders was herself an escaped slave, as were many parishioners. They helped slaves either continue to Canada or settle in Tarrytown if they wished.
First Baptist Church of Tarrytown
The First Baptist Church of Tarrytown is located on South Broadway in Tarrytown, New York, United States. It is a stone building in the Victorian Gothic architectural style dating to the 1870s. In 1983 it and its rectory were listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Congregants first met in the 1840s. The first church on the present site was erected in 1847.
Tarrytown Reservoir
The Tarrytown Reservoir is a 81 acres storage reservoir in Tarrytown, New York. It was completed in 1897 by the Village of Tarrytown as the village's main storage reservoir. The reservoir was formed by the Tarrytown Waterworks Dam which impounded a tributary of the Saw Mill River. The reservoir itself has a maximum capacity of 1,100 acre feet . The Tarrytown Waterworks Dam is earthen, 18 foot high, 315 foot long and drains an area of 1.4 square miles .
