Bohemia is a hamlet in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 10,180 at the 2010 census. It is situated along the South Shore of Long Island in the Town of Islip, approximately 30 miles from the New York City border. Bohemia is bordered by Central Islip and Great River to the west; Islandia, Ronkonkoma and Lake Ronkonkoma to the north; Holbrook to the east; and Oakdale, Sayville, West Sayville, and Bayport to the south.

It is about two miles (3 km) south of Ronkonkoma Lake and dedicated shuttles connect the airport to the Ronkonkoma railroad station. Long Island MacArthur Airport (LIMA) covers an area of 1,311 acres (531 ha) containing four runways and two helipads.

Connetquot High School

1955 MacArthur Airport United Airlines crash

On April 4, 1955, a United Airlines Douglas DC-6 named Mainliner Idaho crashed shortly after taking off from Long Island MacArthur Airport, in Ronkonkoma, Islip, New York, United States. The aircraft, registration number N37512, was performing an instrument rating check flight, when, shortly after taking off, it began banking to the right. Seconds after climbing through 150 feet, the aircraft turned through 90 degrees, causing the nose to drop suddenly, before it impacted with the ground.
