Schenectady, New York
Schenectady is a city in Schenectady County, New York, United States, of which it is the county seat. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 66,135. The name "Schenectady" is derived loosely from a Mohawk word for "on that side of the pinery," or "near the pines," or "place beyond the pine plains. " It is in eastern New York, near the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. It is in the same metropolitan area as the state capital, Albany, about 19 miles south-east.
Union College
Union College is a private, non-denominational liberal arts college located in Schenectady, New York, United States. Founded in 1795, it was the first institution of higher learning chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. In the 19th century, it became the "Mother of Fraternities", as three of the earliest such organizations were established there. After 175 years as a traditional all-male institution, Union College began enrolling women in 1970.
Achilles Rink
The Frank L. Messa Rink at Achilles Center is a 2,225-seat multi-purpose arena in Schenectady, New York. It is home to the Union College Dutchmen ice hockey and Dutchwomen ice hockey teams, members of the ECAC Hockey League. In 2004, it was renovated and renamed Frank L. Messa Rink at Achilles Center. It is named for Frank L. Messa, class of 1973, who is a member of the board of trustees and co-chair of one of the school's main fundraising programs.

WRUC-FM is an independent college radio station owned and operated by Union College in Schenectady, New York. The station is licensed by the FCC to operate on the frequency 89.7 Mhz at an effective radiated power of 100 watts. The station also streams its content on Internet radio at wruc. union. edu. The Aerodrome
The Aerodrome was a nightclub located at 1588 State Street in Schenectady, New York. The Aerodrome was established in 1967 by Jack Rubin of Chicago. The building was originally a 32-lane bowling alley named 'Woodlawn Lanes', which was converted by Rubin into a music venue. Its capacity was approximately 3,000 people. Several famous rock bands and musicians performed at the Aerodrome, including Janis Joplin, Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, B.J.
