St. Albans, Queens
St. Albans is a middle class community in the New York City borough of Queens around the intersection of Linden Boulevard and Farmers Boulevard, about two miles north of JFK Airport. It is southeast of Jamaica, west of Cambria Heights and north of Springfield Gardens and Laurelton. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 12, and is served by the St. Albans Post Office, ZIP Code 11412.
South Jamaica, Queens
South Jamaica is a poor and dangerous neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queens, located south of downtown Jamaica, the Long Island Rail Road tracks Jamaica Avenue and Liberty Avenue. The western border is the Van Wyck Expressway, and it continues in the east towards the neighboring community of St. Albans and to Merrick Boulevard. South Jamaica is largely African-American, with increasing numbers of Mexican and West Indian immigrants moving into the community in recent decades.
Springfield Gardens, Queens
Springfield Gardens is a middle class neighborhood in the southeastern area of the New York City borough of Queens, bounded to the north by St. Albans, to the east by Laurelton & Rosedale, to the south by John F. Kennedy International Airport, and to the west by Farmers Boulevard. The neighborhood is served by Queens Community Board 12. The area was first settled by Europeans in 1660, and was subsequently farmed until the mid nineteenth-century.
Locust Manor (LIRR station)
Locust Manor is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Atlantic Branch serving the residents of the Locust Manor neighborhood of Queens, New York. The station is located at Farmers Boulevard and Bedell Street and is 14.0 miles (22.5 km) from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan. This station has two exits; one exit, adjacent to the Rochdale Village power house, is on the northeast portion of the sprawling Rochdale housing co-operative.

Saint Albans is a station on the Long Island Rail Road located in the St. Albans neighborhood of Queens in New York City. The single entrance is at the south end of the station and has a staircase going down to the north side Linden Boulevard between Newburg and 180th Street.
Jamaica Race Course
Jamaica Race Course was an American thoroughbred horse racing facility operated by the Metropolitan Jockey Club in Jamaica, New York. The 1 mile track opened on April 27, 1903, a day which featured the inaugural running of the Excelsior Handicap. Eugene D. Wood, one of the founders and largest stockholder, served as its first president. On his death in April 1924, Dr. Edward P. Kilroe was appointed president to replace him. The Wood Memorial Stakes is named in Eugene Wood's honor.
Springfield Gardens High School
Springfield Gardens High School was a four-year public high school located 143-10 Springfield Boulevard, in Springfield Gardens in the New York City borough of Queens. After years of poor performance, the school graduated its last class in June 2007. The school had poor test scores and a high drop-out rate. The school is now a complex made up of four other schools.
August Martin High School
August Martin High School is a New York City public high school located in South Jamaica, Queens. Located at 156-10 Baisley Boulevard, in 2008, there were 1,217 students in grades 9-12 under principal Anthony Cromer. The school offers classes in aviation, as the school is named after August Martin, the first African American commercial airline pilot. The school opened in 1971.
