Roosevelt Island Bridge
The Roosevelt Island Bridge is a lift bridge that connects Roosevelt Island to Astoria in Queens, crossing the East Channel of the East River. It is the sole route to the island for vehicular and foot traffic. Construction of the bridge began on March 17, 1952, at a cost of $6.5 million. It opened on May 18, 1955, as the Welfare Island Bridge. The name was changed to the Roosevelt Island Bridge in 1973. When the bridge is open it provides ships with 100 feet of vertical clearance.
Academy of American Studies
The Academy of American Studies is a selective public high school in Long Island City, Queens, New York, which was founded in 1996 by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History With roughly 700 students according to Insideschools. org, this is one of the smallest high schools in New York City. 21st Street – Queensbridge is a station on the IND 63rd Street Line of the New York City Subway. This elevated station, opened on July 19, 1917, has three tracks and two side platforms. The center track is not used in revenue service.
39th Avenue (BMT Astoria Line)
39th Avenue (sometimes called 39th Avenue – Beebe Avenue) is a local station on the BMT Astoria Line of the New York City Subway. Located at 39th Avenue and 31st Street in Long Island City, Queens, it is served by the N train at all times, and by additional Q train on weekdays. This elevated station, opened on July 19, 1917, has two side platforms and three tracks. The center express track is not normally used in revenue service and merges with the two outer tracks south of this station.

Chase Manhattan Bank Building
The Chase Manhattan Bank Building is a 14-story (54 meters or 178 feet) office building located at Queens Plaza in Long Island City, Queens, New York City. It was completed in 1927 and was the tallest office building in Queens until the completion of the Citicorp Building in 1990. The building is architecturally similar to the Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower in Brooklyn.
Big Allis
Big Allis, formally known as Ravenswood No. 3, is a giant electric power generator originally commissioned by Consolidated Edison Company (ConEd) and built by the Allis-Chalmers Corporation in 1965. Currently owned by Transcanada Corp. , it is located on 36th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard in western Queens, New York. Its main fuel is natural gas. During 1963, Allis-Chalmers announced that ConEd had ordered the "world’s first MILLION-KILOWATT unit... big enough to serve 3,000,000 people.

Newcomers High School (High School 555) opened in 1995 with Lourdes Burrows as its principal. This school specializes in introducing new immigrants to American culture as well as teaching English. The school is in Long Island City, Queens, near the Queens Plaza and Queensborough Plaza subway stations.
Brewster Building (Long Island City)
The Brewster Building is a 400,000-square-foot building at 27-01 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City, New York that was once an assembly plant for Rolls Royce cars and Brewster cars and Brewster Buffalo airplanes and is now the corporate headquarters for JetBlue. The building designed by Stephenson & Wheeler opened in 1911 to handle the assembly of the chassis for the Brewster cars that were being built since 1905 at 47th and Broadway in Times Square in New York City.
