Queens Library
The Queens Library, also known as the Queens Borough Public Library, is the public library for the Borough of Queens and one of three library systems serving New York City. It is one of the largest library systems in the world by circulation, having loaned 15 million items in the 2011 fiscal year. It was named “2009 Library of the Year” by Library Journal. According to its website, the library holds about 6.6 million items, of which 1.2 million are at its central library in Jamaica, Queens.

York College of The City University of New York is one of eleven senior colleges in the City University of New York (CUNY) system. It is located in Jamaica, Queens in New York City. Founded in 1966, York was the first senior college founded under the newly formed CUNY system, which united several previously independent public colleges into a single public university system in 1961. Jamaica – 179th Street (IND Queens Boulevard Line)
Jamaica – 179th Street is a terminal station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located at 179th Street and Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, Queens, it serves as the northern terminal for the F at all times and a few rush-hour E trains. This underground station opened on December 10, 1950, has four tracks and two island platforms. To the east are two levels of four relay tracks each extending out to 185th Street.
169th Street (IND Queens Boulevard Line)
169th Street is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 169th Street and Hillside Avenue in Queens, it is served by the F train at all times. This is the closest subway station to the 165th Street Bus Terminal as well as the demolished station at 168th Street (BMT Jamaica Line) and Jamaica Avenue. This station has four tracks and two side platforms.
Montauk Branch
The Montauk Branch is a rail line owned and operated by the Long Island Rail Road in the U.S. state of New York. The branch runs the length of Long Island, 115 miles (185 km) from Long Island City on the west to Montauk on the east. However, in LIRR maps and schedules for public use the term Montauk Branch refers to the line east of Babylon; the line west of there is covered by Babylon Branch schedules to Jamaica and as part of the City Terminal Zone to Long Island City.
Hillside (LIRR station)
Hillside, earlier Rockaway Junction, was a junction and station on the Long Island Rail Road's Main Line and Montauk Branch in Hillside, Queens, New York City, United States. It was located at the place where the Montauk Branch now crosses over the two eastbound passenger tracks and the two freight tracks of the Main Line, just west of the Hillside Facility.
Canal Street (LIRR station)
Canal Street was a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Main Line and Montauk Branch at Canal Street (now 168th Street) in Jamaica, Queens, New York City, United States. The station opened on June 24, 1890, when the local Atlantic Avenue rapid transit trains were extended from Woodhaven Junction through Jamaica to Rockaway Junction, their new terminal. The station was closed in 1899, soon after the "rapid transit" trains started running to the Brooklyn Bridge.

Jamaica Avenue starts at Broadway and Fulton Street (replacing East New York Avenue) in the East New York neighborhood in Brooklyn, and goes to the city line in Bellerose, Queens, where it becomes Jericho Turnpike to service the rest of Long Island.

168th Street (BMT Jamaica Line)
168th Street was the terminal station on the demolished section of the BMT Jamaica Line. It had two tracks and one island platform. This station was built as part of the Dual Contracts. It opened December 12, 1916, seventeen years after the closing of Canal Street Station along the Atlantic Avenue Rapid Transit line, and closed on September 10, 1977. The next stop to the south was 160th Street. It was closed in anticipation of the Archer Avenue Subway, and due to political pressure in the area.
