111th Street (IRT Flushing Line)
111th Street is a local station on the IRT Flushing Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the 7 train at all times. It has four tracks and two side platforms on the main level. At this point, the express track "flies" over the other four tracks. The two center tracks are yard leads of the Corona Yard, home of the 7 train. As a result, trains that go to/from the yard often terminate or begin at this station.

USAir Flight 405
USAir Flight 405 was a regularly scheduled domestic passenger flight between LaGuardia Airport in New York City, and Cleveland, Ohio. On March 22, 1992, a USAir Fokker F28, registration N485US, flying the route, crashed in poor weather in a partially inverted position in Flushing Bay, New York, shortly after liftoff from LaGuardia. The undercarriage lifted off from the runway; however, the airplane failed to gain lift, flying only several meters above the ground.
East Elmhurst, Queens
East Elmhurst is a culturally diverse lower middle class area in the northwest section of the New York City borough of Queens. It is located north of Jackson Heights and Corona and is bounded on the east and north by Flushing Bay. Residents are mostly moderate-income families, but there are also low-income areas. It includes Trainsmeadow, which is its western section. It is patrolled by the New York Police Department's 115th Precinct. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 3.

The Louis Armstrong Gymnasium is a multi-purpose arena at the Elmcor Youth and Adult Activities Center in Flushing, New York. It was home to the Long Island PrimeTime USBL basketball team.
World's Fair Marina
The World's Fair Marina is a public marina in Flushing Bay, Queens, New York. It is located at the northern edge of Flushing Meadows–Corona Park and operated by the Marine Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation. The marina is situated next to a 1.4-mile long stretch of promenade around Flushing Bay and is also near LaGuardia Airport and Citi Field. The marina has over 250 slips for vessels up to 120 feet in length, a boat and kayak launch, and a ferry landing.
North Corona, Queens
North Corona is the northern section of the historic Corona neighborhood. It was created in 1978 with the formation of the city's Community Boards and Community Districts, and the need for co-terminious borders. It is a low income neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. The area is roughly defined by 89th Street to the west, Roosevelt Avenue to the south, the Grand Central Parkway to the east, and 32nd Avenue and Astoria Boulevard to the north.
Roosevelt Avenue
Roosevelt Avenue is a main thoroughfare in the New York City borough of Queens. Roosevelt Avenue begins at 48th Street and Queens Boulevard in the neighborhood of Sunnyside. West of Queens Boulevard, the road is named Greenpoint Avenue and continues across the Greenpoint Avenue Bridge into the borough of Brooklyn, terminating at West Street and the East River in the neighborhood of Greenpoint.
2009 LaGuardia Airport bomb scare
On August 1, 2009, at LaGuardia Airport, an airport employee noticed a computer consultant named Scott McGann acting strangely and a Port Authority police officer was sent to investigate. The officer noticed some electrical equipment in McGann's bag and asked him what it was.
Corona (LIRR station)
Corona was a station stop along the Port Washington Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in the Corona section of Queens, New York City. It was one of two station built by the Flushing Railroad in Corona, this one having been at National Street and 45th Avenue. The station first opened as Fashion Race Course around March, 1853, then renamed West Flushing and later renamed Corona around June, 1872. The second depot built around September, 1872 and was burned down by December 9, 1880.
Louis Armstrong Middle School
The Louis Armstrong Middle School (I.S. 227Q) is a public school located in District 30 in Queens, New York. The school houses grades 5-8. The school was founded in 1979 as a court-ordered experiment in racial integration. Louis Armstrong Middle School embodies the philosophy that children learn best when they have classmates from different ethnic groups, neighborhoods, and academic abilities. The four story school is divided into three houses.
