Harlem
Harlem is a large neighborhood within the northern section of the New York City borough of Manhattan. Since the 1920s, Harlem has been known as a major African-American residential, cultural and business center. Originally a Dutch village, formally organized in 1658, it is named after the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands. Harlem's history has been defined by a series of economic boom-and-bust cycles, with significant population shifts accompanying each cycle.

The Studio Museum in Harlem is an American contemporary art museum in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, New York. It was founded in 1968 as the first such museum in the U.S. devoted to the art of African-Americans, specializing in 19th and 20th century work as well work of artists of African descent. It is located on 125th Street, between Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd. and Lenox Avenue.

Eighth Avenue (Manhattan)
Eighth Avenue is a north-south avenue on the West Side of Manhattan in New York City, carrying northbound traffic. Eighth Avenue begins in the West Village neighborhood at Abingdon Square (where Hudson Street becomes 8th Avenue at an intersection with Bleecker Street) and runs north for 44 blocks through Chelsea, the Garment District, Hell's Kitchen's east end, Midtown and the Broadway Theater District before if finally enters Columbus Circle (at 59th Street).
125th Street (IND Eighth Avenue Line)
125th Street is an express station on the IND Eighth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan, it is served by the A and D trains at all times, by the C train at all times except late nights, and by the B train on weekdays. The next express station to the south, 59th Street – Columbus Circle, is 3.35 miles (5.391 km) away with seven local stations in between.
135th Street (IND Eighth Avenue Line)
135th Street is a local station on the IND Eighth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan, it is served by the C train at all times except late nights, B train during weekdays, and A train during late nights. This is the only local station in the subway system with six tracks between two side platforms.
Lafayette Theatre (Harlem)
The Lafayette Theatre, also known as "the House Beautiful," was an entertainment venue located at 132nd Street and 7th Avenue in Harlem, New York. It was the first New York theater to desegregate, as early as 1912. Here, African-American theatergoers were allowed to sit in orchestra seats instead of the balcony, to which they were relegated in other New York theaters.
Aaron Davis Hall
Aaron Davis Hall is a Performing Arts Center in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. Aaron Davis Hall was founded in 1981 and is located on the campus of the City College of New York, between West 133rd and 135th Streets on Convent Avenue. Convent Ave. is one block east of Amsterdam Avenue. and is the northern extension of Morningside Avenue beginning at 127th Street.

The High School of Music & Art, informally known as "Music & Art", was a public alternative high school at 443-465 West 135th Street, New York, New York, USA that existed from 1936 through 1984, and then merged into the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
St. Nicholas Park
Saint Nicholas Park is a New York City public park located in Harlem at the intersection of Manhattan neighborhoods Hamilton Heights and Manhattanville. The nearly 23-acre park is contained by 141st Street to the north, 128th Street to the south, St. Nicholas Terrace to the west, and St. Nicholas Avenue to the east. Much of City College's campus, including the famous Shepard Hall, is located just across St. Nicholas Terrace.
Victoria Theater (New York City)
Located on 125th Street in Harlem, New York City, the Victoria Theater was designed in 1917 by Thomas W. Lamb, a notable and prolific theater architect of the era, for the Loew’s Corporation. The Loew’s Victoria Theater, as it was known until 1977, opened as a 2,394-seat, luxury vaudeville and motion picture theater. Typical of movie palaces of its era, it contained a stage and backstage dressing rooms and provisions for live music, including an organ.
Hoofers Club
The Hoofers Club was an African-American entertainment establishment and dancers club hangout in Harlem, New York, in the early to mid twentieth century. The club was a legendary site of some of the best of jazz and tap performers, particularly in the 1920s and 1930s. It was located on Harlem's "Swing Street," the stretch of 133rd Street between Lenox and Seventh Avenues known for its music and dance venues. The Hoofer's Club was actually a small room in the back of a comedy club.

Florence Mills House
Florence Mills House at 220 West 135th Street was believed to be where Florence Mills, 1896–1927, lived from 1910 to 1927. She was a leading African-American actress and entertainer during the 1920s. She lived at this address, or a similar address a few blocks away, during her most productive years. The 220 West 135th Street building that existed in 1927 no longer stands and has been replaced. The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976. The designation was withdrawn in 2009.
Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine
The Touro College of Osteopathic medicine (TOUROCOM) is an American osteopathic medical school located in the neighborhood of Central Harlem in New York City, New York. The university's inaugural class was in 2007 and graduated its first class in 2011. It currently has a student body of about 514 students. The school is a division of Touro College.
A. Philip Randolph Campus High School
The A. Philip Randolph Campus High School is a public secondary school in New York City. It is located in Harlem, adjacent to the City College of New York. It occupies a landmark building formerly occupied by The High School of Music & Art. The school was established in 1979 as an educational collaboration between the Board of Education and The City College of New York. The high school is open to all New York City residents, and more than 90% of its graduates attend college.
Connie's Inn
Connie's Inn was a Harlem, New York City nightclub established in 1923 by Connie Immerman, a white bootlegger. It was located in the basement at 2221 Seventh Avenue at 131st Street. Acts featured there included Louis Armstrong, Moms Mabley, Fats Waller, Wilbur Sweatman, Peg Leg Bates, and Fletcher Henderson. Like the Cotton Club, Connie's Inn featured African-American performers, but restricted its audience to whites only.

Knowledge and Power Preparatory Academy IV (KAPPA IV; officially known as M.S. 302) is a public middle school in Harlem. KAPPA IV is in District 5 of the New York City Department of Education. Students from Districts 3, 5, and 6 are eligible for enrollment. KAPPA IV is the fourth incarnation of the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP). The replication of KIPP was made possible through Replications. The mission of Replications, Inc.
