Holmes Towers
The John Haynes Holmes Towers are two public housing buildings on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. The project is located between 92nd and 93rd Streets, spanning from 1st Avenue to York Avenue. The two buildings, completed in 1969, are 25 stories tall and contain 537 apartments. Architects Eggers and Higgins designed the buildings. The development was named for the founder of the Community Church of New York.
Caedmon School
The Caedmon School is an independent coeducational elementary school located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. The school, which employs a modified Montessori curriculum, was the first Montessori school established in New York City and the second in the United States. Founded in 1962, the school currently has approximately 255 students enrolled from Nursery through the Fifth grade.
St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church (New York City)
St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church was a Lutheran church, located in the Lower East Side, Manhattan, New York City. It was founded in 1846 as a mission church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Matthew, (then called Trinity Lutheran Church). The German-speaking congregation grew rapidly among the German immigrants with the influx of mass immigration to the United States from Germany at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries.
St. Stephen of Hungary Church (New York City)
The Church of St. Stephen of Hungary is a Roman Catholic parish church and friary in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 402-412 East 82nd Street, Manhattan, New York City. It has been overseen by Franciscans since 1922. The congregation was established in 1902 by Fr. Lászlo Perényi, a Hungarian priest. It had no permanent facility until three years later, when it moved into a former Presbyterian church on 14th street.
