East Meadow, New York

East Meadow is a hamlet (and census-designated place or CDP) in Nassau County, New York, United States. East Meadow is an unincorporated area in the Town of Hempstead. Its name is derived from being the meadow of Hempstead Plains east of the Meadow Brook (originally a brook, now replaced by a parkway of the same name). Located just 30 miles from downtown Manhattan and with approximately 86% of residents commuting to work, East Meadow is a suburb of New York City.

Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum

The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (commonly known as Nassau Coliseum or simply The Coliseum) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Uniondale, New York. Currently home to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, the Coliseum is located approximately 19 miles east of New York City on Long Island. Opened in 1972, the Coliseum occupies 63 acres of Mitchel Field, site of a former Army and Air Force base.

Hofstra Arena

James M. Shuart Stadium

James M. Shuart Stadium, also known as the Hofstra Stadium, is a 15,000-seat multi-purpose stadium on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. It first opened in 1962, and was known as Hofstra Stadium until August 29, 2002. It is the home field of the Hofstra Pride lacrosse teams. On December 3, 2009 the university announced that it would no longer be sponsoring football. The stadium hosted the inaugural NCAA Division I men's lacrosse championship game in 1971.

Eisenhower Park

Eisenhower Park is centrally located in East Meadow, New York bordered by Hempstead Turnpike on the south and Old Country Road on the north. At 930 acres, it is larger than Central Park, with much of the area devoted to three 18-hole golf courses, including the Red Course, host to the annual Commerce Bank Championship. The park is home to the September 11th Memorial for residents of Nassau County.
