The Bronx
The Bronx is the northernmost of the five boroughs of New York City. Coextensive with Bronx County, it was the last of the 62 counties of New York State to be incorporated. Located north of Manhattan and Queens, and south of Westchester County, the Bronx is the only borough that is located primarily on the mainland (a very small portion of Manhattan, the Marble Hill neighborhood, is physically located on the mainland, due to the rerouting of the Harlem River in 1897).
Happy Land fire
The Happy Land fire was an arson fire that killed 87 people trapped in an unlicensed social club called "Happy Land" (at 1959 Southern Boulevard) in the West Farms section of The Bronx, New York, on March 25, 1990. Most of the victims were young ethnic Hondurans celebrating Carnival. Unemployed Cuban refugee Julio González, whose former girlfriend was employed at the club, was arrested shortly after and ultimately convicted of arson and murder.
Whitlock Avenue (IRT Pelham Line)
Whitlock Avenue is a local station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the 6 train at all times and is located at Whitlock Avenue and Westchester Avenue in the Bronx. There are three tracks and two side platforms, with the center express track used by the <6> service on weekdays in the peak direction. The station has covered-over old signs and a windscreen on the south end. The north end has a full canopy over the platform.

Third Avenue
Third Avenue is a north-south thoroughfare on the East Side of the New York City borough of Manhattan, running from Cooper Square north for over 120 blocks. The street leaves Manhattan and continues into The Bronx across the Harlem River over the Third Avenue Bridge north of East 129th Street to East Fordham Road at Fordham Center. It is one of the four streets that form The Hub, a site of both maximum traffic and architectural density, in the South Bronx.
East Tremont, Bronx
East Tremont is a low income residential neighborhood located in west Bronx, New York City. It is part of Bronx Community Board 6. It borders, from the north and moving clockwise, East 183rd Street, Crotona Avenue, the Cross-Bronx Expressway and Webster Avenue. East Tremont Avenue is the primary thoroughfare through the neighborhood. ZIP codes include 10457, 10458, and 10460. The area is patrolled by the 48th Precinct located at 450 Cross Bronx Expressway.

Bronx Preparatory Charter School is a public middle and high school in the South Bronx. Comprising students in grades 5-12, Bronx Prep graduated its first class of seniors in June 2007. The school is located in a modern facility designed and constructed specifically for Bronx Prep at 3872 Third Avenue.
Crotona Park East, Bronx
Crotona Park East, also known as Crotona (not to be confused with Crotona Avenue in nearby East Tremont), is a low income residential neighborhood geographically located in the southwest Bronx in New York City. The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community Board 3. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise are: the Cross-Bronx Expressway to the north, the Bronx River to the east, East 167th Street to the south, and Crotona–Prospect Avenue to the west.
Bronx Lyceum
The Bronx Lyceum was a New York City landmark erected on the southeast corner of Third Avenue and 170th Street by Henry Zeltner in 1870 across the street from his brewery. The structure was at first known as Zeltner's Hall and was surrounded by a picnic park. Following the sale of the entertainment and meeting hall by the Zeltner family, the property was called Niblo's Garden, a familiar name borrowed from an early New York opera house on Broadway, near Prince Street that was razed in 1895.
South Bronx Classical Charter School
South Bronx Classical Charter School is a charter school in the Bronx borough of New York City. It was founded in September 2004 by Lester Long, a former investment banker and elementary school teacher.
Crotona Park
Crotona Park is a public park in the Bronx, New York City, United States. It covers 127.5 acres or one-fifth of a square mile (51.6 hectares or half a square kilometer), including a 3.3 acre (1.3 hectare) lake, the Bronx's largest swimming pool, and 28 species of trees. The park is bounded by Crotona Park West (also known as Fulton Avenue), Crotona Park North, Crotona Park East, and Crotona Park South; Claremont Parkway and Crotona Avenue pass through it.
Morris High School (Bronx, New York)
Morris High School was a high school in the borough of the Bronx in New York City. It was built in 1897. It was the first high school built in the Bronx. Originally named Peter Cooper High School, the name was changed to Morris High School to commemorate a famous Bronx landowner, Gouverneur Morris, one of the signers of the United States Constitution and credited as author of its Preamble.

Tremont Avenue - 177th Street was an express station on the demolished IRT Third Avenue Line. It was originally built on July 20, 1891 as 177th Street Station and had three tracks and two island platforms. The next stop to the north was 180th Street for local trains and Fordham Road – 190th Street for express trains. The next stop to the south for all trains was 174th Street, but in its last years it rose over the Cross Bronx Expressway in order to get there.

Validus Preparatory Academy is a small public high school in the south Bronx, New York. Founded in 2005, Validus currently enrolls 432 students in grades 9-12. Validus Prep has received a score of "well-developed" on the NYC Department of Education's School Quality Review all three years they have been reviewed and is considered a top new small high school in the city.
Crotona Play Center
Crotona Play Center is the only swimming pool complex built by the Works Progress Administration in the Bronx. It opened in July 1936. It was designated a New York City landmark in 2007. Named for the ancient Greek city of Croton, it is located in Crotona Park on property which was formerly the estate of the Bathgate family.
