Lehman College
Lehman College is one of the constituent colleges of the City University of New York, USA. Founded in 1931 as the Bronx campus of Hunter College, the school became an independent college within the City University in September 1967. The college is named after Herbert Lehman, a former New York governor, United States senator, and philanthropist. It is a public, comprehensive, coeducational liberal arts college with more than 90 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and specializations.
Bedford Park Boulevard – Lehman College (IRT Jerome Avenue Line)
Bedford Park Boulevard – Lehman College (formerly Bedford Park Boulevard – 200th Street) is a local station on the IRT Jerome Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Bedford Park Boulevard (formerly 200th Street) and Jerome Avenue in the Bronx, it is served by the 4 train at all times. It has three tracks and two side platforms. The middle track is generally not used in revenue service.
Bedford Park, Bronx
Bedford Park is a residential neighborhood in the northwest Bronx between the New York Botanical Garden and Lehman College. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise are: Mosholu Parkway to the north, Webster Avenue to the east, East 198th Street to the south, and Jerome Avenue to the west. The Grand Concourse is the primary thoroughfare through Bedford Park. The IND Concourse and IRT Jerome Avenue Lines of the New York City Subway serve the area.
Norwood – 205th Street (IND Concourse Line)
Norwood – 205th Street (formerly 205th Street) is the northern terminal station on the IND Concourse Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 205th Street and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood, Bronx, it is served by the D train at all times. This underground station, opened on July 1, 1933, has two tracks and one island platform. Both track walls have a lime green trim line with small "205" signs below them at regular intervals.
Bedford Park Boulevard (IND Concourse Line)
Bedford Park Boulevard is an express station on the IND Concourse Line of the New York City Subway. Located at Bedford Park Boulevard and Grand Concourse in Bedford Park, Bronx, it is served by the D train at all times. It is also the northern terminal for the B train during rush hours. This underground station, opened on July 1, 1933, has three tracks and two island platforms.
Rose Hill Gymnasium
Rose Hill Gymnasium is a 3,470-seat multi-purpose arena on the Rose Hill campus of Fordham University in The Bronx, New York City. The arena, which opened in 1925, is the oldest on-campus venue currently in use by a NCAA Division I basketball team and the second-oldest overall, with the oldest being Matthews Arena used by Northeastern University which opened in 1910. It also houses the volleyball & women's basketball teams.
Botanical Garden (Metro-North station)
The Botanical Garden (also known as Botanical Garden – East 200th Street) Metro-North Railroad station serves the residents of the Bedford Park section of The Bronx via the Harlem Line. It is 9.5 miles from Grand Central Terminal and is located just north of the intersection of Doctor Theodore Kazimiroff Boulevard (Southern Boulevard) and Bedford Park Boulevard (East 200th Street) adjacent to the site of the New York Botanical Garden. Service at Botanical Garden is hourly.
Academy of Mount St. Ursula High School
The Academy of Mount St. Ursula is a girls’ Catholic college preparatory school, established in 1855 in the East Morrisania section of the Bronx, New York. Since 1892, the school has been located at Bedford Park Boulevard and Bainbridge Avenue, two blocks east of the Grand Concourse, in the Bronx, New York. This is the oldest continuous Catholic High School for girls in New York State and a U. S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School.
Webster Avenue
Webster Avenue is one of the longest thoroughfares in the Bronx. It stretches for 5.8 miles (9.33 kilometres) from Melrose to Woodlawn (on the Bronx-Westchester borderline). The road starts at an intersection with Melrose Avenue, East 165th Street, Brook Avenue and Park Avenue in Melrose, ending at Nereid Avenue (East 238th Street) and East 240th Street in the town of Woodlawn.
200th Street (IRT Third Avenue Line)
200th Street was a local station on the demolished IRT Third Avenue Line, near the New York Botanical Garden. It had three tracks and two side platforms. The next stop to the north was 204th Street. The next stop to the south was Fordham Road – 190th Street. The station was opened on October 4, 1920 and closed on April 29, 1973.
St Philip Neri Elementary School
Founded in 1913, St. Philip Neri Elementary School is located at 3031 Grand Concourse, Bedford Park, Bronx, New York City, New York. It has a long association with the Ursuline Sisters who started the school on the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady.
