WRAT (95.9 FM, "The Rat") is a rock music radio station licensed to Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Its studios and transmitter are located in the Borough of Lake Como, New Jersey. The station is owned by Greater Media. WRAT took over the frequency 95.9 from WADB, a station named for the founder, Adamant Brown and his wife Dorothy. Brown, after determining that there was no one on frequency within the required 70 miles, and co-channel 35 miles. petitioned the FCC for the rights to the frequency.
Wreck Pond
Wreck Pond is a tidal pond located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is surrounded by Wall Township and the boroughs of Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, and Sea Girt. The pond was originally connected to the sea by a small inlet and got its name because sailors would mistake it, in the dark, for the Manasquan Inlet, which is further south. This was alleviated by the building of the Sea Girt Lighthouse and stopped by the eventual filling in of the inlet.
North Spring Lake, New Jersey
North Spring Lake was a borough that existed in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, from 1884 until 1903. The Borough of North Spring Lake was incorporated in May 1884, from portions of Wall Township. The borough was reincorporated on January 3, 1893, and gained additional portions of Wall Township in 1899 and 1903. On February 24, 1893, the borough was annexed to Spring Lake. With that, North Spring Lake was dissolved.
