Weehawken is a township in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 12,554, reflecting a decline of 947 (-7.0%) from the 13,501 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,116 (+9.0%) from the 12,385 counted in the 1990 Census.
Burr–Hamilton duel
The Burr–Hamilton duel was a duel between two prominent American politicians, the former Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton and sitting Vice President Aaron Burr, on July 11, 1804. At Weehawken in New Jersey, Burr shot and mortally wounded Hamilton. Hamilton was carried to the home of William Bayard on the Manhattan shore, where he died at 2:00 p.m. the next day.

Union Hill, New Jersey
Union Hill was a town that existed in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States, from 1864 to 1925. Union Hill was incorporated as a town by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 29, 1864, from portions of Union Township (later to be known as West New York). Portions of North Bergen Township were added in 1866. The town was reincorporated on March 27, 1874. On January 1, 1925, Union City was formed from the merger Union Hill and West Hoboken Township.
Weehawken Terminal
Weehawken Terminal was the waterfront intermodal terminal on the North River (Hudson River) in Weehawken, New Jersey for the New York Central Railroad's West Shore Railroad division. It opened in 1884 and closed in 1959. The complex contained five ferry slips, sixteen passenger train tracks, car float facilities, and extensive yards. The facility was also used by the New York, Ontario and Western Railway.

Pershing Road travels for 0.42 miles on the Hudson Palisades in Weehawken, New Jersey between Boulevard East and Weehawken Port Imperial and carries the designation Hudson County Route 682. At County Route 505 (Boulevard East), the road meets 47th Street (County Route 680) and 48th Street (County Route 684), two of the very few two-way streets in the urban grid of North Hudson, both of which travel west to Bergenline Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard. Shippen Street was developed at the start of the 20th century as part of the Weehawken Heights, one the town's residential neighborhoods.
