Maple Shade Township is a township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 19,131, reflecting an increase of 52 (+0.3%) from the 19,079 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 132 (-0.7%) from the 19,211 counted in the 1990 Census. What is now Maple Shade was originally formed as Chester Township on November 6, 1688, and was also known as Cropwell Township from June 5, 1690 through February 22, 1699.

The Cherry Hill Public Library in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, United States is an agency of the Township's municipal government. Originally called The Cherry Hill Free Public Library, the word "Free" was dropped from the title in 2003. The current library building was completed in December 2004 to replace a 1966 structure just northeast of the same location.
