As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 8,881. Edgewater Park Township was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 26, 1924, from portions of Beverly Township (now known as Delanco Township).

What is now Delanco Township was originally incorporated as Beverly Township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 1, 1859, within Willingboro Township.

Delanco (River Line station)
Delanco is a station on the River Line light rail system, located on Rhawn Avenue in Delanco, New Jersey. The station opened on March 15, 2004. Southbound service from the station is available to Camden, New Jersey. Northbound service is available to the Trenton Rail Station with connections to New Jersey Transit trains to New York City, SEPTA trains to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Amtrak trains. Transfer to the PATCO Speedline is available at the Walter Rand Transportation Center.
