Phillips Exeter Academy

Phillips Exeter Academy (also known as Exeter, Phillips Exeter, or PEA) is a highly selective, prestigious American private college preparatory school for boarding and day students between the 9th and 12th grade. It is a large co-ed school, with over 1,000 students, and was founded in 1781 by John Phillips, a wealthy American merchant and early patron of schools.

Phillips Exeter Academy Library

The Phillips Exeter Academy Library in Exeter, New Hampshire, U.S. , with 160,000 volumes on nine levels and a shelf capacity of 250,000 volumes, is the largest secondary school library in the world. It is part of the Phillips Exeter Academy, an independent boarding school. When it became clear in the 1950s that the library had outgrown its existing building, the school initially hired an architect who proposed a traditional design for the new building.

Exeter River

The Exeter River is a 40.5-mile -long river located in Rockingham County in southeastern New Hampshire, the United States. It rises in the town of Chester, 12 miles southeast of Manchester. It follows a winding course east and northeast to Exeter, where it becomes the Squamscott River, a tidal river leading north to Great Bay. There are falls and small dams at Exeter and several other villages along the river. Its drainage basin encompasses an area of 126 square miles .

Little River (Exeter, New Hampshire)

The Little River is a 7.2 mile long river largely in the town of Exeter in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, in the United States. It is a tributary of the Exeter River, part of the Great Bay/Piscataqua River watershed in the New Hampshire Seacoast region. The river should not be confused with the Little River of Brentwood and Kingston, another Exeter River tributary less than three miles to the west.

Exeter is a train station in Exeter, New Hampshire served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The station is a sheltered platform that replaced a station built in 1891. The station is served five times daily by Amtrak's Downeaster service. On average, 250 passengers board or detrain daily, making it the busiest stop in New Hampshire. The station is located next to the Pan Am Railways mainline, formerly the Western Route mainline of the Boston & Maine Railroad.

WPEA is a non-commercial educational radio station licensed to serve Exeter, New Hampshire. The station is owned by the Trustees of the Phillips Exeter Academy. It airs a Variety format. The WPEA studios are located in the Phelps Academy Center on the campus of the Phillips Exeter Academy. WPEA is the oldest continuously operated high school radio station in the United States. The station was assigned the WPEA call letters by the Federal Communications Commission.

American Independence Museum

The American Independence Museum is a historic house museum located in Exeter, New Hampshire. Its 1-acre campus includes two buildings: the Ladd-Gilman House, a registered National Historic Landmark built in 1721 by Nathaniel Ladd, and the Folsom Tavern, built in 1775 by Colonel Samuel Folsom. The museum was opened in 1991 after a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence known as a Dunlap Broadside was found in the Ladd-Gilman house, 200 years after its arrival in Exeter.

The Exeter Inn

The Exeter Inn, also known as The Inn at Exeter, is an inn in Exeter, New Hampshire. It is located on Front Street and was first built in 1932. It is located close to the campus of Phillips Exeter Academy and is within walking distance of downtown Exeter. The inn's architectural style is very similar to many of the buildings on campus, as well. Many parents of Phillips Exeter students stay at the hotel when visiting.
