John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort
John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort is a casino resort/hotel in Sparks, Nevada. The main portion of the casino consists of two 29-story towers nestled between Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific rail yard. There are additional attached buildings underneath and across Interstate 80 from the towers. It is located in Downtown Sparks/Victorian Square. Dick Graves' Nugget first opened in 1955. In May 2009, the station was closed because of its proximity to Reno, NV. The Silver Club was a hotel casino in downtown Sparks, Nevada. The property originally opened in 1982. The property closed on January 11, 2009. In August 2009, Max Baer Jr. , who played Jethro Bodine in the Beverly Hillbillies began looking into purchasing the property and turning it into Jethro's Beverly Hillbillies Hotel and Casino.
