Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) is a private, coeducational university located in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. It was founded in 1887 by Nebraska Methodists. As of 2007, it has 1,600 full-time students and 300 faculty and staff. The school teaches in the tradition of a liberal arts college education. Nebraska Wesleyan was ranked the #1 liberal arts college in Nebraska by U.S. News and World Report in 2002. In 2009, Forbes ranked it 84th of America's Best Colleges.

Cotner College
Cotner College is a former school located in present-day Lincoln, Nebraska. It was sometimes known as Cotner University. The school was affiliated with the Disciples of Christ (Christian) churches. The school started in 1889 as Nebraska Christian University and the last class graduated in 1933. Although it was always small and struggling, it was ambitious. It taught medicine, business, and dentistry. A normal school department taught teachers.
Maxwell Arboretum
The Earl G. Maxwell Arboretum is a 5-acre arboretum and botanical garden located on the East Campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska. The arboretum began more than 50 years ago when Earl G. Maxwell began to plant trees on the campus. It was subsequently dedicated as the second site of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. Mature oaks include specimens of black, bur, English, pin, sawtooth, shingle, shumard, and swamp white varieties.
