Eureka is a city located in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States, between St. Louis and Pacific, Missouri, along Interstate 44. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 10,189. The city is 2 miles west of the former site of Times Beach, the site of dioxin contamination discovered in the 1980s; the area was cleaned up and became Route 66 State Park.

Times Beach, Missouri
Times Beach is a ghost town in St. Louis County, Missouri, Missouri, United States, located 17 miles (27 km) southwest of St. Louis and 2 mi (3 km) east of Eureka. Once home to more than two thousand people, the town was completely evacuated early in 1983 due to a dioxin contamination that made national headlines. It was the largest civilian exposure to dioxin in the country's history.

Sherman, Missouri
Sherman is an unincorporated community in western St. Louis County, Missouri. It is located on the Meramec River about three miles northeast of Eureka. It formerly had a post office, but mail now comes from Ballwin. Sherman is also a junction / parking area for the Al Foster trail which is a part of the St Louis County parks Department. The Al Foster trail connects the towns of North Eureka and Glencoe to Castlewood State Park and is used for biking, hiking, and accessing the Meramec River.

Hidden Valley Ski Area
For the ski resort in New Jersey, see Hidden Valley (New Jersey). Hidden Valley Ski Area is a ski resort in the St. Louis, Missouri suburb of Wildwood, Missouri. Tim Boyd bought the Wildwood Golf Course for $250,000 in 1977. In 1982 he converted the hills to a ski resort while maintaining the golf course. The resort would be the first of several resorts throughout the Midwest and Northeast United States he developed or acquired through his company Peak Resorts.
