Clinton is a city in Hinds County, Mississippi, United States. Situated in the Jackson metropolitan area, it is the tenth largest city in Mississippi. The population was 25,216 at the 2010 United States Census.
Jackson State University
Jackson State University (Jackson State, or JSU) is a historically black university in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. Founded in 1877 in Natchez, Mississippi by the American Baptist Home Mission Society of New York, the Society moved the school to Jackson in 1882, renaming it Jackson College, and developed its present campus in 1902. It became a state-supported public institution in 1940.

The Battle of Jackson, fought on May 14, 1863, in Jackson, Mississippi, was part of the Vicksburg Campaign in the American Civil War. Union commander Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant and the Army of the Tennessee defeated Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston, seizing the city, cutting supply lines, and opening the path to the west and the Siege of Vicksburg.

Owned by Hearst Television, the station can also be found on Comcast channel 4 and Cable ONE channel 12. There is a high definition feed provided on Comcast digital channel 431 and Cable ONE digital channel 455.

WXMS-LP (channel 27) is a television station in Jackson, Mississippi affiliated with Me-TV. The station began broadcasting in December 1999 as an affiliate of both the WB and UPN networks. The WB was WXMS's primary affiliation while UPN was its secondary affiliation. On October 7, 2001, WXMS became a primary UPN affiliate after ceding its WB affiliation to sister station WDBD, which had defected from the Fox network.

For much of its early life, the school was located at Sykes Road and Wheatley Drive in south Jackson, and operated as a K-9 school.
WZRX (AM)
WZRX (1590 AM, "Fox Sports 1590") was a sports radio station in Jackson, Mississippi. WZRX aired programming from Fox Sports Radio. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the station was called "W1" (WWUN). It was a Top 40 rock-and-roll station, but it was not as popular as WRBC-AM. The station changed formats to the big-band sound in 1985, later changing the call letters to WYHT-AM (Your Hit Tunes). The hours were expanded to 24 hours a day. John Friskello was the major local announcer.

Mississippi River Basin Model
The Mississippi River Basin Model Waterways Experiment Station, located near Clinton, Mississippi, was a large-scale hyrdaulic model of the entire Mississippi River basin, covering an area of 200 acres. Now derelict, the model was built from 1943 to 1966 and in operation from 1949 until 1973. By comparison, the better known San Francisco Bay Model covers 1.5 acres and the Chesapeake Bay Model covers 8 acres.
