Minnetrista, Minnesota
Minnetrista is a settlement mainly in Hennepin County, Minnesota. A very small part of Minnetrista extends into Carver County. The name Minnetrista is said to owe its origin to the Dakota language, in which minne means "water" and trista means "crooked. " The city is generally rural and still has material agricultural activity, involving corn, beans, hay and horses.
St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
St. Bonifacius is a settlement in Hennepin County, Minnesota. It is centered around Minnesota State Highway 7 and County Road 92, and located about 25 miles west of Minneapolis. It is part of the Waconia School District. The population was 2,283 at the 2010 census. It is one square mile and completely surrounded by the city of Minnetrista.
Saunders Lake
Saunders Lake is located in the United States state of Minnesota. It is a 70-acre lake that is west-southwest of Minneapolis–St. Paul in the Minneapolis suburb of Minnetrista. The first European settlers came to the area near Saunders Lake in the 1850s. In 1854, Nathaniel Sanders and J. F. Buck settled on its shores. Saunders Lake was named for Nathaniel Sanders. Dutch Lake is a lake located in the state of Minnesota. It was named for its early German population. It is a 159.50 acres acre lake that is west-southwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul in the Minneapolis suburb of Mound and Minnetrista. It has an average depth of 15.15 feet and a maximum depth of 45 ft . Slow Creek, its un-navigable outflow is on its northeast shore. It connects the lake the Lake Minnetonka.
Lake Langdon
Lake Langdon in Mound, Minnesota, has an area of 144 acres . Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) charts show its maximum depth of 38 feet, though it would be classified as a shallow lake with a mean depth of 8.3 feet . It is named for R. V. Langdon, the first township clerk. It is located west of Commerce Boulevard and south of Lynwood Boulevard.
Halstead's Bay
Halstead's Bay (sometimes spelled Halsted's) is the western most bay of Lake Minnetonka. It is in the cities of Minnetrista and Mound, in Hennepin County, Minnesota. It is named for the settler Frank W. Halsted, who migrated to its shores in 1855. Its main tributary is Six Mile Creek that enters the bay from the west. Access to the bay is provided by a public boat launch along Halstead's Drive. The bay is one of the last on Lake Minnetonka to see intensive modern residential development.
