Thomas Edison Depot Museum
The Thomas Edison Depot Museum is located underneath the Blue Water Bridge connecting Port Huron, Michigan to Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. The depot is owned and operated by the Port Huron Museum and is the actual depot that inventor Thomas Edison worked out of as a news butcher between 1859 and 1863. The museum includes a restored baggage car resting on a short spur of railroad track.
WGRT
WGRT is an adult contemporary radio station in Port Huron, Michigan. It is owned by Port Huron Family Radio and broadcasts with a power of 3,000 watts. WGRT signed on in October 1991. The station airs a satellite-delivered AC format ("Today's Hits and Yesterday's Favorites") from Citadel Media. The station can be heard as far as Lapeer County and in parts of northern Macomb and southern Sanilac counties.
Fort St. Joseph (Port Huron)
A short lived French fort established in 1686 by Daniel Greysolon, Sieur du Lhut. Its heyday was in 1687 when about two hundred coureurs de bois, about five hundred Algonquian, Henri de Tonti, Nicholas Perrot, Oliver Morel de La Durantaye, and thirty French soldiers gathered there under Marquis de Denonville's orders to prepare for an attack on the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy during the Iroquois Wars.
WORW
WORW (91.9 FM, "The Wave") is a high school radio station located in Port Huron Northern High School broadcasting a CHR/Top 40 format. Licensed to Port Huron, Michigan, it first began broadcasting in 1972. In fall of 2005, Faculty Advisor Carrie Maggs updated the high school radio station's studio with an automation system allowing the station to begin broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Port Huron Northern High School
Port Huron Northern High School (also PHN or Northern) is a high school located in Port Huron, Michigan. The school's colors are blue and gold, and the mascot is the Siberian Husky. The school is host to a store (the Paw Pad) as well as a radio station (WORW), and was recently added onto with the Performing Arts Center (PAC).
Birchwood Mall
Birchwood Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in Fort Gratiot Township, outside the city of Port Huron, Michigan, United States. It is owned and managed by Rouse Properties, one of the largest mall owners in the United States. The Mall features more than 100 stores, a ten-screen movie theater, and a food court. JCPenney, Macy's, Sears, Carson's, and Target are the mall's anchor stores. The mall is located on Pine Grove Avenue, north of Interstates 69 and 94.
