Calumet, Michigan
Calumet is a village in Calumet Township, Houghton County, in the U.S. state of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, that was once at the center of the mining industry of the Upper Peninsula. Also known as Red Jacket, the village includes the Calumet Downtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The village may itself be included within the Calumet Historic District, a larger area which is NRHP-listed and which is a National Historic Landmark District.
Swedetown, Michigan
Swedetown is a small, unincorporated community in Houghton County in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is within Calumet Township at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:47|14|11|N|88|27|53|W|region:US | |name= }}, west of Osceola Road and the junction with Swedetown Road. It is south of Calumet and west of Laurium and the intersection of US 41 and M-26.
Italian Hall disaster
The Italian Hall Disaster (sometimes referred to as the 1913 Massacre) is a tragedy that occurred on December 24, 1913 in Calumet, Michigan. Seventy-three men, women, and children, mostly striking mine workers and their families, were crushed to death in a stampede when someone falsely yelled "fire" at a crowded Christmas party.

Calumet High School is located in Calumet, Michigan in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. It is part of the Public Schools of Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw. The school mascot is the Copper King. The high school is in the same building as Washington Middle School. The school was established in 1867 during a copper boom in the Upper Peninsula. The school itself is a product of the powerful Calumet and Hecla Mining Company that once owned and operated much of Calumet.

The Calumet Public School Library is a combined library that serves as both a school library and as a library for the public in Calumet, Michigan. The shared library has a long history in Calumet. It serves as a public library that provides school services and also a public library that is being provided by a school. A township library was created in Calumet during the early 1870s. In 1898 a new public library was constructed by the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company.
Tamarack mine
Tamarack mine is a copper mine located in Osceola Township, Houghton County, north of Calumet, Michigan. The first shaft was started in 1882 and five shafts were eventually mined. In 1966 six-year-old Ruth Ann Miller fell into shaft #4 and a rescue was impossible.
Washington Middle School (Calumet, Michigan)
Washington Middle School is located in Calumet, Michigan. Calumet's Washington Middle School serves grades 6–8 in the Public Schools of Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw district. It is among the few public middle schools in Michigan to receive a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 8 out of 10. It is located in the same building as Calumet High School.
Italian Hall
Italian Hall was a two-story commercial and recreational building in Calumet, Michigan, built in 1908 and demolished in 1984. Two prior buildings known popularly as "Italian Hall" stood on the site. The first floor housed commercial space with a large hall on the second floor. The building served as headquarters for the Societa Mutua Beneficenza Italiana (Italian Mutual Benefit Society) and hosted community events.
