Perkins School for the Blind
Perkins School for the Blind, in Watertown, Massachusetts, is the oldest school for the blind in the United States. It has also been known as the Perkins Institution for the Blind. On Oct. 15, 2012, the global NGO shortened its name to simply Perkins, to reflect a mission that extends beyond the school in Watertown, into 67 countries. The name change also reflects the international organization's growing advocacy for worldwide literacy through braille.
Watertown Square (MBTA station)
Watertown Square in Watertown, Massachusetts is the termination point of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's route 71 trackless trolley and the 59 bus. Buses 70 and 70A pass through Watertown Square, and stop on Main Street on the north side of the bus loop. Watertown Square is known for the route 71, with an exclusive connection to Harvard. On Sundays, trackless trolleys are replaced with standard diesel buses. Watertown Square is located directly in the city's center.

(Despite the 1994-6 removal of A Branch tracks, the carhouse is still fully tracked).

The dam is located where the Charles River tidal estuary historically ended (the tides no longer reach this point because of the downstream Charles River Dam). Watertown Dam is of earthen construction, a gravity dam. Its length is 220 feet . Its capacity is 30 acre feet . Normal storage is 20 acre feet . It drains an area of 0.2 square miles .
