Newton, Massachusetts
Newton is a suburban city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. It is approximately seven miles west of downtown Boston and is bordered by Boston to the east. Rather than having a single city center, Newton is a patchwork of thirteen "villages". According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the population of Newton was 85,146, making it the eleventh largest city in the state. Newton is served by three modes of mass transit run by the MBTA: light rail, commuter rail, and bus service.

Newton North High School, formerly Newton High School, is the larger and longer-established of two public high schools in Newton, Massachusetts, with about 1,800 students, the other being Newton South High School. It is located in the village of Newtonville. The school recently underwent controversial reconstruction of its facility, making it one of the largest and most expensive high schools ever built in Massachusetts, with a price tag of nearly US$200 million.

Newtonville is a village of Newton, Massachusetts. Located in Newtonville is Newton North High School, one of the city's two high schools. Also located in Newtonville is the MBTA Commuter Rail train station, which is serviced by the buses 59, 553, 554, and 556. Newtonville is a predominantly residential neighborhood. It was once served by the now defunct Newton Nexus bus, a free service provided by the city of Newton. Walnut Street could be called the main artery of the village.
Cochituate Aqueduct
The Cochituate Aqueduct was an aqueduct bringing water to Boston, Massachusetts, during the years 1848-1951. The aqueduct formed a key link in Boston's first major water supply system. Its genesis dates to 1845, when a Sudbury River tributary was impounded to form Lake Cochituate in Natick. This artificial lake, with 17 miles of watershed, 2 billion US gallons of storage, and yield of 10 million US gallons of water per day, became the cornerstone of Boston's public water system.

The Washington Park Historic District is a historic district in the village of Newtonville, in Newton, Massachusetts. It includes the following properties, some of which date from the 1890s: 4 to 97 Washington Park plus 5 and 15 Park Place. The focal point of the district is the city park which is located in the median of the street of the same name. On March 12, 2008, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
First Church of Christ, Scientist (Newton, Massachusetts)
The former First Church of Christ, Scientist, built in 1940, is an historic Christian Science church building located at 391 Walnut Street on the corner of Otis Street in the village of Newtonville, in Newton, Massachusetts. It was designed in the redbrick Colonial Revival style by Densmore, LeClear and Robbins, architects. Due to cost constraints, its steeple was added later. In September, 2004, the church sold its building for $1,050,000 to be converted into apartments.

It is a massive four-story redbrick Renaissance-style building with a turret on the corner and a steep slate pyramid roof.
Church of the Open Word (Newton, Massachusetts)
The Church of the Open Word is an historic Swedenborgian church building located at 19 Highland Avenue in the village of Newtonville, in Newton, Massachusetts. The congregation was organized in 1860 and a wooden chapel was erected on the rear of this property. The stone Gothic Revival building was erected on the front of the property in 1893. The Swedenborgian Church of North America is headquartered here.
Crystal Lake (Newton)
Crystal Lake is a 33-acre natural lake located in Newton, Massachusetts. Its shores, mostly lined with private homes, also host two small parks and a town beach and bath house. The name Crystal Lake was given to the pond by a nineteenth century commercial ice harvester that sold ice cut from the pond in winter. It had previously been called Baptist Pond and used for baptisms by the Newton Center Baptist Church. The ice company felt that Crystal Lake was a better name for marketing purposes.
