WLYN
WLYN is a leased-time ethnic station in the Boston market. The station is licensed to Lynn, Massachusetts, and is owned by Multicultural Broadcasting. Its programming is broadcast on 1360 kHz on the AM band. WLYN broadcast in AM Stereo until the end of 2006. WLYN first went on the air on December 11, 1947 as a daytime-only station; it had 500 watts, and the transmitter was located near the Fox Hill Bridge ("Lynn's New Radio" 15).
Belden Bly Bridge
Belden G. Bly Bridge originally known as the Fox Hill Bridge was built in 1912 and renamed in 1985 in honor of former member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Belden Bly. It is the oldest cantilever bridge in the United States still in use as well as the oldest Scherzer Rolling Lift under the supervision of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. Streetcar tracks originally ran along the southbound section of the bridge.
Lynn Classical High School
Lynn Classical High School is a high school in the city of Lynn, Massachusetts. The school was once located off of the Lynn Commons, which building is now the Fecteau-Leary school. The high school was moved to O'Callaghan Way after the controversial construction of a new facility. The new facility has had to undergo massive reconstruction after it was discovered the building was literally sinking into the ground.
River Works (MBTA station)
River Works is a passenger rail station on MBTA Commuter Rail's Newburyport/Rockport Line. The station is for General Electric Aviation employees only. Trains only stop at River Works on weekdays. It is served by inbound trains in the morning and outbound trains in the evening for commuting plant workers, as well as trains in the opposite directions for reverse commuting workers.
