Smithsburg, Maryland
Smithsburg is a town in Washington County, Maryland, United States. The population was 2,975 at the 2010 census. Smithsburg is close to Fort Ritchie army base and just west of the presidential retreat Camp David.
Quirauk Mountain
Quirauk Mountain is the highest point on South Mountain. The 2,145-foot peak is located in northeastern Washington County, Maryland. It lies just southwest of Fort Ritchie Military Reservation in the village of Cascade and about 1/2 mile southeast of the community of Blue Mountain. The Appalachian Trail and South Mountain State Park are about 1/2 mile to the west of the mountain's summit.

Smithsburg High School was constructed in 1965 on 66 North Main Street in the town of Smithsburg, Maryland, United States. The school is part of the Washington County Public Schools system. It shares a campus with Smithsburg Middle School and, across the street, Smithsburg Elementary School. The current principal is Karim Shortridge. The school day starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.

WAYZ is a Country formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Hagerstown, Maryland, serving the Four-State Area. WAYZ is owned and operated by VerStandig Broadcasting. FM 104.7 came on the air in 1946 as WJEJ-FM (sister to WJEJ 1240). Until 2000 the station was known as easy listening/beautiful music formatted WWMD under Hagerstown Broadcasting, when the station was sold to VerStandig. At that time the callsigns for 104.7 WWMD and 101.5 WAYZ were swapped.

Pen Mar Park
Pen Mar Park is a scenic area located on High Rock Road on the Mason-Dixon line in Washington County, Maryland. In 1877, the site was opened as an amusement park by the Western Maryland Railroad. When it was dismantled in 1943 the park contained a roller coaster, carousel, miniature train and railroad station, dining hall to seat 450 people, and a dance pavilion.
