Kent Island High School
Kent Island High School (KIHS) is a public high school in Stevensville, Maryland that first opened in 1998 to accommodate the growing population of Queen Anne's County. The school takes its name from Kent Island, the location of the school (and the entire census designated place of Stevensville). The school is often seen as the successor to Stevensville High School, which closed in 1966, and was renovated and reopened as Stevensville Middle School.

The trail serves as part of the American Discovery Trail.

Love Point, Maryland
Love Point is the name for the northernmost tip of Kent Island, and as such, marks the southern point of the mouth of the Chester River. It has served as a major ferry terminal, the western terminus of the Queen Anne's Railroad, and the nominal western terminus of Maryland Route 18 (which is aligned in a north/south direction near Love Point). Two notable landmarks once stood at the Love Point area; the Love Point Light and Hotel Love Point, both of which are completely destroyed.
