Wheaton is an unincorporated, urbanized area in Montgomery County, Maryland, USA, north of Washington, D.C. , northwest of Silver Spring. Wheaton takes its name from Frank Wheaton (1833–1903), a career officer in the United States Army and volunteer from Rhode Island in the Union Army who rose to the rank of major-general while serving before, during, and after the American Civil War. Wheaton's boundaries are not officially defined.

Glenmont (WMATA station)
Glenmont is a Washington Metro station in Montgomery County, Maryland on the Red Line. This is the northeastern terminus of the Red Line. Glenmont is the only station on the Red Line to feature the six-coffer arch design. The six-coffer design is also seen on the Green Line. Until 2006, Glenmont was also the only station in the system lit with sodium lamps, which gave the station a warm orange glow.

Wheaton Youth Center
The Wheaton Youth Center, also known as the Wheaton Community Recreation Center, is a building located on Georgia Avenue in Wheaton, Maryland. The space is operated by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation. The Wheaton Youth Center opened in December 1963 and for the following decade was one of the premiere locations for the emerging suburban Maryland concert scene. Concerts at the Wheaton Youth Center were held in the gymnasium, which was located across from the Wheaton Library.
