Wilde Lake, Columbia, Maryland
Wilde Lake is a reservoir and also the name of the surrounding neighborhood, or "village", located in Columbia, Maryland, just north and west of the Columbia Town Center. It was the first portion of the "New Town" of Columbia to be built during the late 1960s, and was occupied in 1967. The lake and village are named for Frazar B. Wilde, a past chairman of the board of Connecticut General Life Insurance Company.
Wilde Lake High School
Wilde Lake High School is a secondary school located in Columbia, Maryland's Village of Wilde Lake, one of 12 public high schools in Howard County. Opened in 1971 as a model school for the nation, it was Columbia's first high school. It had a unique open doughnut-shaped design with "open classrooms" and was a model school for new teaching settings. In 1994, the original building was demolished and reconstructed on the same site with a more traditional style.
Enchanted Forest (Maryland)
The Enchanted Forest is a now-closed theme park in Ellicott City, Maryland, on U.S. Route 40 (Baltimore National Pike) near the intersection with Bethany Lane. Other theme parks with the same name have since opened elsewhere. The Enchanted Forest officially opened on August 15, 1955, following a preview party the afternoon before — one month after Disneyland Park's opening. Appealing mostly to families with small children, the park had a nursery rhyme theme.
Centennial High School (Howard County, Maryland)
Centennial High School is a secondary school in Ellicott City, Maryland that opened in 1977. The school is based in Howard County and is part of the Howard County Public Schools system. Starting with the 2009 school year, the school principal is Carl Perkins. A previous principal was Lynda Mitic, who took up the post in 1996 and retired in 2004, shortly before a civil rights lawsuit was brought by English teacher Michelle Maupin, claiming racial discrimination.
Dorsey's Search, Columbia, Maryland
Dorsey's Search is one of ten villages comprising Columbia, Maryland, USA, and was occupied starting in 1980. The current population is approximately 7,500. The village has two neighborhoods: Dorsey Hall and Fairway Hills. It is the northernmost Columbia village, with part of the village lying north of Maryland Route 108. Dorsey Hall was named after the Dorsey Hall Manor House, built in the 18th century.

It was created by damming the Centennial Branch of the Little Patuxent River. The lake and the park feature a dam, a wildlife area, a walking trail, boating, fishing, and other recreational activities. The park is owned by the Howard County department of Parks and Recreation.

Clark's Elioak Farm
Clark's Elioak Farm, located along Maryland Route 108 in Howard County, Maryland, is a historic farm covering 540 acres. All of the acreage is part of county or state farmland protection programs, barring use of the property for non-farm development. The Clarks, a family with a tradition of farming in Maryland spanning seven generations, have owned the Elioak farm since 1927.
