Point of Rocks, Maryland
Point of Rocks is a community in Frederick County, Maryland. It is named for the striking rock formation on the adjacent Catoctin Mountain, which were formed by the Potomac River cutting through the ridge in a water gap, a typical formation in the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians. The formation is not visible from the town and can only be seen from boats on the river, or from the southern bank of the river in Virginia.

Mar-Lu-Ridge Summer Camp and Education and Conference Center is an outdoor ministry site of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America located in Jefferson, Maryland. Mar-Lu-Ridge, an abbreviation for either Martin Luther or Maryland Lutheran, sits atop a mountain in the Catoctin Mountain range. The camp is a year round ministry location that was founded at a groundbreaking ceremony on December, 31 1958. The first year of summer camp was 1959, and camp continues to the present.
