Alexandria, Louisiana
Alexandria is a city in and the parish seat of Rapides Parish, Louisiana, United States. It lies on the south bank of the Red River in almost the exact geographic center of the state. It is the principal city of the Alexandria metropolitan area (population 153,922) which encompasses all of Rapides and Grant parishes. Its neighboring city is Pineville. In 2010, the population was 47,723, an increase of 3 percent from the 2000 census.

The Diocese of Alexandria is the Roman Catholic diocese for central Louisiana, based in Alexandria, with its see at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. It encompasses the parishes, or counties, of Avoyelles, Rapides, Vernon, Natchitoches, Winn, Caldwell, Madison, Franklin, Tensas, Concordia, Cathoula, Lasalle, and Grant. The current Bishop of the Diocese is Ronald Paul Herzog, who was appointed to the office on November 4, 2004. Bishop Herzog was formally installed on January 5, 2005.
Bringhurst Field
Bringhurst Field is a baseball stadium in Alexandria, Louisiana. Owned by the city of Alexandria, it is the home field of the Alexandria Aces collegiate summer baseball team and also hosts local high school games. Built in 1933 and renovated extensively in 1994, it holds 3,500 people. It is also the home field for a local high school, the Bolton High School Bears.
Alexandria Museum of Art
The Alexandria Museum of Art (AMoA) of Alexandria, central Louisiana, USA opened its doors in 1977 in the historic Rapides Bank Building (circa 1898). In 1998, AMoA expanded and constructed its grand foyer and offices as an annex to the Rapides Bank Building. In 1999, AMoA was honored as an Outstanding Arts Organization in the Louisiana Governor's Arts Awards.

The Arna Bontemps African American Museum is a museum in the United States city of Alexandria, Louisiana. The museum is housed in the restored home that was the birthplace of the poet Arna Bontemps, renowned as one of the leaders of the Harlem Renaissance. The museum and cultural center is located at 1327 3rd Street. The Bontemps museum is one of the first 26 featured sites on the Louisiana African American Heritage Trail.
Peabody Magnet High School
Peabody Magnet High School is a secondary educational institution located in the South Alexandria subdivision of Alexandria, the seat of Rapides Parish and the largest city in central Louisiana. The school is named for one of its benefactor, George Foster Peabody (1852–1938), a London capitalist whom promoted the furthering of education in the Southern United States.
