Argentine, Kansas
Argentine is a community of Kansas City, Kansas, located in the southern part of Wyandotte County. It is bordered on the west by the Turner community, on the east by the Rosedale community, on the south by Johnson County, and on the north by Armourdale community and by the Kansas River. Argentine was primarily recognized for the prosperous silver smeltery for which it was named.
KCNW
KCNW is an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Fairway, Kansas. The station broadcasts a religious radio format to the Kansas City metropolitan area with a 2,500-watt daytime and 29-watt nighttime signal. KCNW is owned by Wilkins Communication Network and the broadcast license is held by Kansas City Radio, Inc. In the 1960s, 1380 AM was home to a Top-40 station, KUDL.

18th Street Expressway Bridge
The 18th Street Expressway Bridge is a one level deck truss, four lane crossing of the Kansas River in Kansas City, Kansas. It was built in 1959, to replace the Argentine Bridge to the west. It also rises above the BNSF railroad tracks. It was damaged in 2000, after a BNSF train derailed and destroyed one of the piers, which caused the south approach span to buckle, and disabled it for several months while it was being repaired.
Kansas Avenue Bridge (West)
The Kansas Avenue Bridge (West) is a four lane, multi-beam girder bridge crossing the Kansas River, and a small company on the east side. It was first built in 1916 as a 9 span thru-truss, but later in 1988 destroyed, and replaced with the current multi-beam girder bridge. It is just west of the 18th Street Expressway Bridge.
Interstate 635 Bridge
The Interstate 635 Bridge is an automobile crossing of the Kansas River in Kansas City, Kansas. The bridge was built in 1976, and work to rebuild it started 2003, and finished by 2005. During the rebuild process, the bridge underwent repairs, was resurfaced, and the girder beams were replaced in some places.
Argentine Bridge
The Argentine Bridge was a one lane, thru-truss bridge over the Kansas River in Kansas City, Kansas. It was built in 1908, and removed in 1959, after the 18th Street Expressway Bridge was built to the east of it. It was damaged in the flood of 1951, after being crushed by a large oil tanker that floated from a field near the Kansas Avenue Bridge (West). After the flood, it never reopened, but was left in place until the replacement bridge was built.

The middle school was created when Argentine High School became Argentine Middle School in 1973. The present principal of Argentine Middle School is Jereme Brueggeman.
