Ward-Meade Park Botanical Gardens
Ward-Meade Park Botanical Gardens 2.5 acres (10,000 m²) are botanical gardens located in Historic Ward-Meade Park at 124 NW Fillmore Street, Topeka, Kansas, USA. The gardens feature more than 500 varieties of flowers, shrubs, and trees, all labeled with their botanical names, as well as a water garden with a footbridge, a gazebo and benches.
Topeka (Amtrak station)
The Topeka Amtrak station is a train station in Topeka, Kansas, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The Topeka Amtrak Station was built in 1950 by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway as a replacement for the former Topeka Harvey House, which itself was opened in 1878 as part of the original Santa Fe depot and remained open until 1940. The existing station was remodeled by the BNSF Railway in 2006.
KTOP (AM)
KTOP is a radio station serving the Topeka, Kansas vicinity. The station currently broadcasts a sports talk format, but prior to October 4, 2007 had broadcast an adult standards/oldies format. KTOP is owned by Cumulus Media and licensed to Cumulus Licensing, LLC. They retain local broadcast rights to Topeka's minor league hockey team. The transmitter and antenna are located in northern Topeka on NW Buchanan Street near the Kansas River.
Sardou Bridge
The Sardou Bridge is an automobile crossing of the Kansas River at Topeka, Kansas. It carries two lanes, one south, one north, over the river, and its banks. It is on the outer eastern part of the city. On the north side, it leads to NE Morse Avenue, and on the south to NE Sardou Avenue. The bridge is named after Charles Sardou, an early settler in the area. The first span of the bridge was destroyed by the a 1903 flood, and its replacement washed away in the Great Flood of 1951.
North Kansas Avenue Bridge
The North Kansas Avenue Bridge is a four lane, automobile and pedestrian crossing of the Kansas River at Topeka, Kansas, U.S.A. The bridge connects downtown Topeka to North Topeka. It is open to traffic. The North Kansas Avenue Bridge opened in 1967. It replaced the Melan Arch Bridge, which had collapsed two years prior, killing one motorist. The Melan Arch Bridge opened in 1898 and was the only bridge to North Topeka until 1938.
Topeka Boulevard Bridge
The Topeka Boulevard Bridge is a four-lane automobile and pedestrian crossing of the Kansas River at Topeka, Kansas, U.S.A. A complete rebuilding of the bridge took place from 2006 to 2008, in which guarded walkways for pedestrians were added, as well as various aesthetic amenities, like a clock. The bridge spans the Kansas River from West 1st Avenue to NW Gordon Street.
