Council Bluffs, Iowa
Council Bluffs, known until 1852 as Kanesville, Iowa—the historic starting point of the Mormon Trail and eventual northernmost anchor town of the other emigrant trails—is a city in and the county seat of Pottawattamie County, Iowa, United States and is on the east bank of the Missouri River across from what is now the much larger city of Omaha, Nebraska. The population of Council Bluffs was 62,230 at the 2010 census.
USS Marlin (SST-2)
USS Marlin (SST-2), originally USS T-2 (SST-2), was a T-1-class training submarine in commission from 1953 to 1973. She was the second submarine of the United States Navy to be named for the marlin, a large game fish. She was one of the smallest operational submarines ever built for the U.S. Navy.
USS Hazard (AM-240)
USS Hazard (AM-240) was an Admirable-class minesweeper which served in the United States Navy during World War II. Hazard was launched on 1 October 1944 and was commissioned on 30 December 1944. The vessel was built by the Winslow Marine Railway and Shipbuilding Corporation of Winslow, Washington. Hazard was fitted for both wire and acoustic sweeping and could double as an anti-submarine warfare platform. The Admirable class of minesweepers were also used for patrol and escort duties.

The Mid-America Center is an arena and convention center located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, just five minutes from downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The arena's maximum capacity is about 8,000 for concerts and 6,700 for ice hockey and arena football. The arena continues to provide free parking. It is the home of the Iowa Blackhawks of the APFL. From 2002-2009, it hosted the Omaha Lancers of the USHL. Beginning February 19, 2011, it will host roller derby bouts for the Omaha Rollergirls of the WFTDA.

Illinois Central Missouri River Bridge
The Illinois Central Missouri River Bridge, also known as the IC Bridge or the East Omaha Bridge, is a rail through truss double swing bridge across the Missouri River connecting Council Bluffs, Iowa with Omaha, Nebraska. It is owned by the Canadian National Railway and is closed to all traffic. At 521 feet long, the second version of the bridge was the longest swing bridge in the world from when it was completed in 1903 through 1915. In 1975 it was regarded as the third longest swing bridge.
