Grand View University
Grand View University is a private, not-for-profit liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Founded in 1896, the university is located in Des Moines, Iowa and hosts 2,200 students in 40 undergraduate majors, seven certificate programs, two post-baccalaureate certificates, five pre-professional preparation programs, and three master's programs.

The Des Moines Botanical Center (14 acres / 5.7 hectares) is a botanical garden in central Iowa, located at 909 Robert D. Ray Drive, Des Moines, Iowa, USA, on the east bank of the Des Moines River. Interest in a Des Moines botanical center began in 1929. A city greenhouse was acquired on the west side of the river in 1939, which served the city as a production and display greenhouse until the current Botanical Center was completed in 1979.

KJMC is a non-commercial educational radio station serving the Des Moines, Iowa area with an Urban Adult Contemporary format. KJMC is owned by Minority Communications, Inc. Riverview Park (Iowa)
Riverview Park was an amusement park in Des Moines, Iowa, from 1915 to 1978. What began in pre-1915 as a zoological garden and trolley destination in an area of Des Moines known as Highland Park would become Riverview Amusement Park, a popular family entertainment oasis in early Iowa history. It was built upon an island, accessed via a wooden bridge, by a group of nine local businessmen that were headed up by a Des Moines movie-theater mogul named Abe Frankle.
