Agricultural Society Fair Grounds
Agricultural Society Fair Grounds was a fairground on the west side of Rockford, Illinois. It was used as a baseball grounds by the Rockford Forest Citys baseball club of the National Association during the 1871 season, so it is considered a major league ballpark. The Forest Citys only played 6 home games at this field during the 1871 season. The former fairgrounds are now part of the Rockford Park District.

WIFR, virtual channel 23, is the CBS television affiliate based in Rockford, Illinois and licensed to nearby Freeport. It broadcasts its digital signal on UHF channel 41, though it formerly broadcast its analog signal on channel 23, which it continues to use as its virtual digital channel via PSIP. Battle of Stillman's Run
The Battle of Stillman's Run, also known as the Battle of Sycamore Creek or the Battle of Old Man's Creek, occurred on May 14, 1832. The battle was named for Major Isaiah Stillman and his detachment of 275 Illinois militia which fled in a panic from a smaller number of Sauk warriors. The engagement was the first battle of the 1832 Black Hawk War which had ignited after Black Hawk crossed the Mississippi River into Illinois with his "British Band" of Sauk and Fox.

Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden (63 ha / 155 acres) is a nonprofit arboretum and botanical garden located at 2715 South Main Street, Rockford, Illinois. The arboretum was first established in 1910 as Rockford Nursery by landscape architect William Lincoln Taylor, who planted many of the arboretum's trees.

The Rockmen Guardians are a group of sculptures located in Rockford, Illinois, United States, south of the Sinnissippi greenhouse on the west side of the Rock River recreation path. There are four figures composed of granite and cement. The artist is Terese Agnew of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The work was built in autumn 1987 and spring 1988 and the statues are about 12 feet (3.7 m) tall.

The Rockford Amtrak Station is a proposed train station in Rockford, Illinois, for a new Chicago-Rockford-Dubuque Amtrak corridor scheduled to start by the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015. The route will run on the same tracks the former Black Hawk line used from 1974-1981. The station's construction will start in 2012 and will be located just south of downtown Rockford along Illinois Route 2.
Loose Pulley Junction
Loose Pulley Junction is a fictional populated place and railroad station along the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (MILW) main line near Rock River in Stillman Valley, Ogle County, Illinois, US. From about 1910 to about 1970, there was a well-respected railroad engineer in the area, named Louie "Loose Pulley" Johnson. He lived in a wooded area along the east bank of Rock River, north of the MILW tracks.
