Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), located just outside Batavia, Illinois, near Chicago, is a US Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in high-energy particle physics. Wayne is an affluent village in DuPage and Kane County, Illinois. The eastern portion, in DuPage County, is in Wayne Township while the western portion, in Kane County, is in St. Charles Township. The population was 2,137 at the 2000 census. In the late 19th and early 20th century, Wayne was a prominent center of horse breeding and farming research. The community was known for breeding French Percheron horses, a draft horse similar to a Clydesdale.
West Chicago, Illinois

The Tevatron was a synchrotron that accelerated protons and antiprotons in a 6.86 km, or 4.26 mi, ring to energies of up to 1 TeV, hence its name.

Geneva (Metra)

The center includes over 80 retailers and restaurants spread over 418,000 square feet . The center, which was developed by Jeffrey R. Anderson, was opened on September 5, 2002. The developer also built the Algonquin Commons, located 15 miles north along Randall Road in Algonquin, which opened in 2004.

The company operates a chain of facilities at airports all across the United States. American Flyers produces more instrument-rated pilots than any other school in the nation. South Elgin (Amtrak station)
The South Elgin Amtrak station is a proposed train station located in South Elgin, Illinois, and will serve a new Chicago-Rockford-Dubuque Amtrak route that is expected to begin operation in late 2014 or early 2015. South Elgin will be the first stop west of Chicago Union Station. The city of South Elgin is planning the location for the station to be on Randall Road. No other plans for the station have been identified so far.
