Aurora is the second most populous city in the U.S. state of Illinois, and the 111th largest city in the United States. The population in 2010 was 197,899. North Aurora, Illinois
North Aurora is village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. A suburb of Chicago, its population was 15,848 at the 2009 census. In its early history, North Aurora was known as "Schneider's Mill" or "Schneider's Crossing" after John Peter Schneider, a German immigrant who established a mill and dam on the Fox River after moving to the area in 1834. Schneider Elementary School, on the east side of the Fox River, is named after him.

Marmion Academy
Marmion Academy is a Roman Catholic high school for young men located in Aurora, Illinois. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockford. The academy is run by the Benedictine monks of Marmion Abbey, located on campus. The academy has a United States Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program that has been a part of the academy since its early years, but was not a part of the school in the inaugural year of 1933–34.

The Aurora Transportation Center is a station on Metra's BNSF Railway Line in Aurora, Illinois. The station is 38.4 miles from Union Station, the east end of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Aurora is in zone H. There is a staffed station building. Aurora is the west end of the BNSF Railway Line and is served by numerous Pace bus routes. It served as a Greyhound bus stop until September 7, 2011. Amtrak trains do not stop here.

The Aurora Public Library is a library in Aurora, Illinois, United States. It includes the Main Library, two branches, a satellite library, a support facility and a bookmobile. The library locations service a population of almost 200,000. The Main Library, built with funds from Andrew Carnegie, was erected in 1904. It currently is located in downtown Aurora at 1 E. Benton St. next to SciTech Museum.
Marmion Abbey
Marmion Abbey is a Benedictine community of the Swiss-American Congregation in Aurora, IL - it was founded in 1933 from St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana. The principal apostolate of the monks has been Marmion Academy, though a variety of work has been undertaken by them throughout the Fox Valley area and beyond, particularly their mission priory in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, where they operate a minor seminary.
