Our Lady of the Angels School fire
The Our Lady of the Angels School Fire broke out shortly before classes were to be dismissed on December 1, 1958, in the basement at the foot of a stairway in the Our Lady of the Angels School in Chicago, Illinois. The elementary school was operated by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. A total of 92 pupils and 3 nuns eventually lost their lives when smoke, heat, and fire cut off their normal means of escape through corridors and stairways.

Kedzie (Metra)
Kedzie is a Metra commuter railroad station in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. It is served by the Union Pacific/West Line. The station is at North Kedzie Avenue and West Carroll Avenue in an industrial and low-income residential neighborhood. The Chicago Transit Authority's elevated Kedzie station is on West Lake Street, about three blocks to the south. The Garfield Park Conservatory is nearby. No passenger trains stop at Kedzie station on evenings and weekends.
Grand/Cicero (Metra)
Grand/Cicero is a commuter railroad station in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago and is 6.5 miles away from Union Station, the eastern terminus of the line. The station is located at the corner of West Grand Avenue and North Cicero Avenue. Service to the station began on December 11, 2006. The station is served solely by the Milwaukee District/West Line. Metra North Central Service trains use these tracks but do not stop.
California (CTA Green Line station)
California is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Green Line's Lake Branch. It opened on November 6, 1893. California was closed on February 9, 1992, as part of a series of budget cuts, but later reopened with the completion of the Green Line rehabilitation. The station is situated near the intersection of California Avenue and Lake Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. It is wheel-chair accessible.
Kedzie (CTA Green Line station)
Kedzie is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Green Line. It opened in March 1894, and is three blocks south of Metra's Kedzie station on the Union Pacific/West Line. It is also near the Chicago Center for Green Technology.
Conservatory–Central Park Drive (CTA station)
Conservatory–Central Park Drive is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Green Line. It opened on June 30, 2001. It is named for the Garfield Park Conservatory just outside the station. Conservatory–Central Park Drive station replaced the former Homan Avenue Station on the Lake Street Elevated two blocks to its east. During construction of the station the Homan historic station house was moved to its current location.

California (CTA Blue Line station)
California is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Blue Line, on North California Avenue near West Fullerton Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood. From California, trains run every 2-7 minutes during rush-hour periods, and take 12 minutes to reach the Loop.

Some sources describe the school as "in Austin". The school was operated by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago and served as the parish school of the Our Lady of the Angels Church. The school is best known for the fatal Our Lady of the Angels School Fire, which occurred on December 1, 1958.

Rath House
The Rath House is an architecturally significant house located at 2703 West Logan Boulevard in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It was built in 1907 by the architect George W. Maher for John Rath, the owner of the Rath Cooperage Company, one of the largest barrel-making concerns in the country. The house was designated a Chicago Landmark on December 1, 1993.
Waller Apartments
The Edward C. Waller Apartments are located from 2840 to 2858 W. Walnut Street in Chicago, Illinois. They were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1895. Some of the oldest buildings to be used for subsidized housing in Chicago, they received Chicago Landmark status on March 2, 1994.
Healy (Metra)
Healy is a station on Metra's Milwaukee District/North in the Hermosa community area Chicago, Illinois. The station is 6.4 miles away from Union Station, the southern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Healy is in zone B. Street-side parking is only available on the north side of West Fullerton Avenue just west of where it runs beneath the tracks. A freight spur exists north of the station.

Flanking this strip on both sides are these fifty-nine feet tall Puerto Rican flags made of steel, 2 gateways that are the bookends of Paseo Boricua.

The Chicago Center for Green Technology is a 34,000-square-foot US Green Building Council LEED Platinum certified building located on a plot of 17 acres in Chicago’s East Garfield Park Community built to showcase green technologies. This was the first municipal and brownfield site to win a LEED Platinum award. This project was completed as part of Mayor Richard M. Daley’s Chicago Brownfield Initiative (CBI).
Hermosa (Metra)
Hermosa is a closed station on Metra's Milwaukee District/West Line. The station was located at 1800 N. Keeler Ave. in the Hermosa neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Hermosa was 5.9 miles from Union Station, the eastern terminus of the Milwaukee District/West Line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Hermosa was located in zone B. On December 11, 2006, Hermosa and the nearby Cragin station were closed and replaced by the Grand/Cicero station, which is located between both former stations.

Homan was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Green Line. The station was located at Homan Avenue and Lake Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago. Homan was situated east of Pulaski and west of Kedzie. Homan opened in March, 1894 and closed on January 9, 1994 when the Green Line closed for renovations. The station did not reopen with the rest of the Green Line on May 12, 1996.
