University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign

Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology
The Beckman Institute is a unit of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign dedicated to doing interdisciplinary research. A gift from scientist, businessman, and philanthropist Arnold O. Beckman (1900-2004) and his wife Mabel, led to the building of the Institute, which opened in 1989. Boneyard Creek
Boneyard Creek is a 3.3-mile-long waterway that drains much of the cities of Champaign and Urbana, Illinois. It is a tributary of the Saline Branch of the Salt Fork Vermilion River, which is a tributary of the south-flowing Vermilion River and the Wabash River. The creek flows through the northern sections of the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The newsletter of the university's ACM chapter is Banks of the Boneyard, named after the creek.
Huff Hall
Huff Hall is a 4,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Champaign, Illinois, United States. The arena opened in 1925 and was known as Huff Gymnasium until the 1990s. It is named after George Huff, who was the school's athletic director from 1895 to 1935. Huff Hall is home to the University of Illinois Fighting Illini volleyball and wrestling teams. Prior to the opening of Assembly Hall in 1963, it was home to the basketball team as well.

UIUC Graduate School of Library and Information Science
The Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) is a graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The program is currently accredited in full good standing by the American Library Association. The school is also a charter member of the iSchool initiative. GSLIS offers professional degrees including the standard Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master in Biological Informatics, and a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS).
Alma Mater (Illinois sculpture)
The Alma Mater is a bronze statue by sculptor Lorado Taft located on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The 10,000-pound statue depicts a mother-figure wearing academic robes and flanked by two attendant figures representing "Learning" and "Labor", after the University's motto "Learning and Labor. " Standing at the corner of Green St and Wright St. at the heart of campus, the statue is iconic for the University and a popular backdrop for student graduation photos.
Orpheum Children's Science Museum
The Orpheum Children's Science Museum is a children's science museum located in an old Orpheum Theatre in downtown Champaign, Illinois. The Museum covers all of the entrance to the theater, and some adjoining space outside. There are plans to turn the stage and theater part into exhibits soon. The Orpheum has many exhibits, ranging from a simple machines castle to a musical instrument made of pvc tubing.
Virginia Theatre (Champaign)
The Virginia Theatre is a live performance and movie theatre in downtown Champaign, Illinois. It has been providing theatrical and cinematic entertainment to the Champaign-Urbana community since its doors opened in 1921. Each year, the Virginia Theatre is host to movies from film reels, plays from various acting troupes, concerts, and Ebertfest, presented by the UIUC College of Media. It is currently owned by the Champaign Park District.
Altgeld Hall
Altgeld Hall, built in 1897 on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus, United States, is home to the Department of Mathematics and the Mathematics Library. Altgeld Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. A feature of Altgeld Hall is the University Chime which marks the hours, half hours, and quarter hours. The bell tower plays a ten minute concert every school day at 12:50 PM.
