Turner Field
Turner Field is a stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, home to Major League Baseball's Atlanta Braves since 1997. Originally built as Centennial Olympic Stadium in 1996 to serve as the centerpiece of the 1996 Summer Olympics, the stadium was converted into a baseball park to serve as the new home of the franchise.
Underground Atlanta
Underground Atlanta is a shopping and entertainment district in the Five Points neighborhood of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, United States, near the intersection of the east and west MARTA rail lines. First opened in 1969, it takes advantage of the viaducts built over the city's many railroad tracks to accommodate later automobile traffic. Each level has two main halls, still called Upper and Lower Alabama and Pryor Streets.

Atlanta Campaign
The Atlanta Campaign was a series of battles fought in the Western Theater of the American Civil War throughout northwest Georgia and the area around Atlanta during the summer of 1864. Union Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman invaded Georgia from the vicinity of Chattanooga, Tennessee, beginning in May 1864, opposed by the Confederate general Joseph E. Johnston. Johnston's Army of Tennessee withdrew toward Atlanta in the face of successive flanking maneuvers by Sherman's group of armies.
Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium
Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium, often referred to as Fulton County Stadium and originally named Atlanta Stadium, was a multi-purpose stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The stadium was built to attract a Major League Baseball team and in 1966 succeeded when the Milwaukee Braves relocated from Wisconsin. The Braves and Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League shared the venue from 1966 until 1991, when the Falcons moved into the newly completed Georgia Dome.
Zoo Atlanta
Zoo Atlanta is an Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited zoological park in Atlanta, Georgia. Zoo Atlanta houses over 1,500 animals representing more than 220 species. The zoo is has the nation's largest zoological collections of gorillas and orangutans and is one of four zoos in the U.S. currently housing giant pandas.
Centennial Olympic Stadium
Centennial Olympic Stadium was the 85,000-seat main stadium of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. Construction of the stadium began in 1993, and it was complete and ready for the Opening Ceremony in July 1996, where it hosted track and field events and the closing ceremony. After the Olympics and Paralympics, it was reconstructed into the baseball-specific Turner Field.
Grady Memorial Hospital
Grady Memorial Hospital, frequently referred to as Grady Hospital or simply Grady, is the largest hospital in the state of Georgia and the public hospital for the city of Atlanta. It is the fifth-largest public hospital in the United States, as well as one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in the country. Historical segregation of its hospital units meant that it was also called "The Gradys," a name that still surfaces among elderly Atlanta residents, especially African-Americans.
Willie B
Willie B. was a gorilla who lived at Zoo Atlanta for 39 years, from 1961 until his death on February 2, 2000. He was named after the former mayor of Atlanta, William Berry Hartsfield. Willie B. was kept in isolation for 27 years with only a television and a tire swing to keep him company. In 1988, he was moved to an outside exhibit and allowed to socialize and raise a family. He then embraced his role as silverback and leader of a troop. Willie B.
Supreme Court of Georgia (U.S. state)
The Supreme Court of Georgia is the highest judicial authority of the US state of Georgia. The court was established in 1845 as a three-member panel. Since 1896, the justices (increased in number to six, and then to seven in 1945) have been elected by the people, and today those elections are non-partisan. Three of the state's seven sitting Justices were re-elected, all unopposed, in 2012. The first Chief Justice of the Court was Joseph Henry Lumpkin, who was appointed in 1863.
GSU Sports Arena
The Georgia State University Sports Arena is an indoor arena located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It is the home of the basketball teams of Georgia State University and hosted the badminton competition of the 1996 Summer Olympics. Georgia State's women's volleyball team uses the facility as well.
Atlanta Public Schools
Atlanta Public Schools is a school district based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. APS is run by the Atlanta Board of Education with superintendent Erroll Davis. The system has an active enrollment of 54,956 students, attending a total of 103 school sites: 50 elementary schools (three of which operate on a year-round calendar), 15 middle schools, 21 high schools, 4 single gender academies and 13 charter schools.
Peachtree Center (MARTA station)
Peachtree Center station is an underground train station on the Red and Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It is the deepest station in the MARTA rail system, at 120 feet below Peachtree Street. It serves the Peachtree Center neighborhood of downtown Atlanta, and is the first station north-northeast of the rail system hub at Five Points. Peachtree Center is one of the busiest stations on the Red/Gold Lines, handling over 15,000 people per weekday.
Georgia State (MARTA station)
Georgia State is an elevated station on the Blue and part-time on the Green lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system located in the eastern part of Downtown Atlanta. The station is located within the James H. Floyd State Office Building and was constructed concurrently with the building in the late 1970s. Exits are located on Piedmont Avenue and Jesse Hill Jr. Drive (formerly Butler Street).
King Memorial (MARTA station)
King Memorial is an elevated station on the Blue and part-time on the Green lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. The station name is a portmanteau of Martin Luther King and nearby Memorial Drive. It mainly serves The Sweet Auburn Historic District in the city of Atlanta, as well as the communities surrounding Oakland Cemetery. It provides access to The Oakland Cemetery.
Garnett (MARTA station)
Garnett is an elevated Rail station on the Red and Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system, located in South Downtown. It has an island platform between two tracks. This station has three levels to it. It was opened on December 4, 1981. The upper level has an entrance from the street and a mezzanine that is about 3/4 the length of the platform below.
Miss Freedom
Miss Freedom, sometimes referred to as Goddess of Liberty, is the name of the statue adorning the dome of the Georgia State Capitol since 1889. Commissioned in 1884, the hollow copper statue is painted white, weighs over 1600 lbs and is over 26 feet tall. She was sculpted with a torch in her right hand and a sword in her left. The torch is a functioning light.
Municipal Auditorium (Atlanta)
Atlanta Municipal Auditorium, originally known as the Auditorium and Armory, was an auditorium in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. It was constructed with funds raised by a committee of Atlanta citizens and then sold to the city of Atlanta. The structure was dedicated in a pre-inaugural visit from President William Howard Taft in 1909 during which he was served a 'possum dinner, and the dining hall in which this took place was named in his honor.
St. Paul United Methodist Church (Grant Park -- Atlanta)
St. Paul United Methodist Church is located in the historic Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. For a time in the early 1900s, St. Paul had the largest Methodist congregation in the Southeastern United States. The church organ was acquired at the Cotton States Exhibition in 1887. Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital
The Hughes Spalding Pavilion, located in Atlanta, Georgia, was a private hospital that served African-American patients beginning in 1952, and serving in a variety of functions through 1989. Renamed the Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital, it reopened in 1992 as a pediatric hospital. The hospital, now named Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, is now owned by Grady Health System and managed by HSOC, Inc. , an affiliate of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Eyedrum
Eyedrum is a non-profit art space and venue in Atlanta, Georgia focused on contemporary art and experimental music ranging from contemporary chamber music, sound sculpture to drone noise music, and art rock. Up until Jan. 1, 2011, they were located in the Old Fourth Ward district, and had three art galleries and one space for music and performance. They hosted approximately 180 events yearly.
Antoine Graves (building)
Antoine Graves was a senior citizen highrise in Atlanta, Georgia built in 1965. Located at 126 SE Hilliard St. SE, Downtown. Demolished 2009 including annex. Antoine Graves was designed by architect John C. Portman, Jr. and was one of his earliest and most influential projects, his first atrium building and only public housing project. He adapted its atrium design in 1967 for the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, a building which brough Portman international fame.
Lemuel P. Grant Mansion
The Lemuel P. Grant Mansion is a historic house located on St. Paul Avenue between Broyles and Grant streets in the Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta. It is one of only three antebellum houses in the city of Atlanta still standing in their original locations. It is also by far the closest to what were in the 1860s the Atlanta city limits. The mansion was owned by Lemuel P. Grant, Atlanta's quintessential railroad man as well as a major landowner and civic leaderafter.
Holland House (Atlanta)
In the early 1900s, the oldest house in the city was the Holland House, built in 1842 or 1848. It originally had stood at the northeast corner of Whitehall (now Peachtree St. SE) and Alabama streets, at the rear of the Republic Block. After its construction, it was sold to Edward W. Holland (b. 1807), a hotel owner, and of the candy manufacturing firm Jack & Holland, who then passed it along to his son.
