Kennesaw, Georgia
Kennesaw is a city in Cobb County, Georgia, United States, located in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. It had a population of 29,783 according to the 2010 census. Founded in 1887, Kennesaw has a past surrounded with railroad history. During the Civil War, Kennesaw was the staging ground for the Great Locomotive Chase on April 12, 1862. In 2007, the city was selected by Family Circle magazine as one of the nation's "10 best towns for families".

Battle of Allatoona
The Battle of Allatoona, also known as the Battle of Allatoona Pass, was fought October 5, 1864, in Bartow County, Georgia, as part of the Franklin-Nashville Campaign of the American Civil War. A Confederate division under Maj. Gen. Samuel G. French attacked a Union garrison under Brig. Gen. John M. Corse, but was unable to dislodge it from its fortified position protecting the railroad through Allatoona Pass.
Lake Allatoona
Lake Allatoona (rarely called Allatoona Lake, its government name) is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir in Georgia, located in northwestern metro Atlanta. The lake is mostly in southwestern Cherokee County, but a significant part is in southeastern Bartow County, and a small part in Cobb County near Acworth. Cartersville is the nearest large town to the dam. Red Top Mountain State Park is located on its shores, on the peninsula between the Etowah and Allatoona arms of the lake.
Allatoona, Georgia
Allatoona was a town located in extreme southeastern Bartow County, Georgia. Built along Allatoona Creek, it was a gold mining area later in the first U.S. gold rush, which occurred in Georgia and North Carolina. Reaching its height in the 1840s, the Georgia Gold Rush continued into the 1850s even while the second gold rush was occurring in California. (Gold was also mined in nearby Woodstock. ) The Battle of Allatoona Pass took place here just after the fall of Atlanta in 1864.

KSU Convocation Center
The KSU Convocation Center is the athletic department’s centerpiece on campus. The 4,600-seat arena opened in 2005 in Kennesaw, Georgia and is home to the Kennesaw State Owls' men's and women's basketball teams, the volleyball team as well as the athletic department’s administrative offices. It is also available for booking for external events, and has hosted concerts, conferences and trade shows, as well as sporting events.

Lake Acworth
Lake Acworth is a 90-acre man-made lake located southwest of the city of Acworth, Georgia. It is located in the extreme northwestern part of Cobb County. The lake impounds Proctor Creek (not the same as Proctor Creek in nearby Atlanta), and outflows into Lake Allatoona. The low dam is at the point where State Route 92 (Lake Acworth Drive) crosses. The city of Acworth operates Acworth Beach, a public beach and park along the northern shore of the lake.

Kennesaw State University (KSU) is a public, coeducational, comprehensive university located in Kennesaw, Georgia, United States, approximately 20 miles north of Atlanta. KSU also holds classes at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Dalton State College, Appalachian Technical College and ]]Dallas. A current enrollment of over 24,600 students makes KSU the third largest institution in the University System of Georgia, trailing the University of Georgia and Georgia State University.
WFTD
WFTD AM is a local Atlanta area AM broadcasting station. The station's programming is in Spanish consisting of music and talk under the branding of "Radio La Ley 1080 AM". It broadcasts at a frequency of 1080 kHz with 50,000 watts of power during the daytime and 30,000 watts during critical hours using a directional antenna system. WFTD is classified as a class D AM broadcast station according to the Federal Communications Commission.

North Metro Technical College
North Metro Technical College (commonly North Metro Tech, or NMTC) was a two-year state technical college located in the state of Georgia, and governed by the Technical College System of Georgia. The college was accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees since 2006. Since the beginning of July 2009, it is now the North Metro campus of nearby Chattahoochee Technical College.

North Cobb Christian School is an independent, college preparatory school with a Christian based environment. It is located in Kennesaw, Georgia. It houses children from K3 through twelfth grade. The school offers a variety of Honors and AP classes, clubs, and a variety of middle school, junior varsity and varsity sports. Kennesaw State University Soccer Stadium
Kennesaw State University Stadium is a soccer and lacrosse stadium near Kennesaw, Georgia that opened on May 2, 2010, with the first match played on May 9. It is primarily used for soccer, and is the result of a public-private partnership between the university and the Atlanta Beat of Women's Professional Soccer. The facility hosts both the KSU women's soccer team and the Beat, and also hosted the 2010 WPS All-Star Game on June 30. The stadium's capacity for soccer is 8,318.
2010 Penske shootings
The Penske workplace shootings occurred on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Three people were killed and two others critically injured in a workplace shooting at a truck rental business located near the city of Kennesaw, Georgia. The alleged shooter, Jessie J. Warren, was captured and arrested in the incident.
Fred Stillwell Stadium
Fred Stillwell Stadium is a baseball venue located in Kennesaw, Georgia, USA. It is home to the Kennesaw State Owls of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference. Stillwell Stadium has been home to the program since its 1984 inception. Its seating capacity is 1,200 spectators. The park features seating from bullpen to bullpen and also terrace-style seating beyond the left field fence. A press box is located behind home plate.
