Payne, Georgia
Payne, more commonly known as Payne City, is a small city in Bibb County, Georgia, United States. It is an enclave completely surrounded by the city of Macon, and is the only other incorporated area in the county. The population was 178 at the 2000 census. Payne was originally a company town for a Bibb Manufacturing textile mill, founded in 1899. Though the mill is closed today, its former site houses several small businesses.

Fort Benjamin Hawkins
Fort Hawkins was a fort built in 1806-1810 in the historic Creek Nation by the United States government under President Thomas Jefferson and used until 1824. Built in what is now Georgia at the Fall Line on the east side of the Ocmulgee River, the fort overlooked the sacred ancient earthwork mounds of the Ocmulgee Old Fields, now known as the Ocmulgee National Monument, and the Lower Creek Pathway.

WBML
WBML is a radio station broadcasting a country music format. Licensed to Macon, Georgia, USA, the station serves the Macon area. Originally licensed to 1240 kc. on the AM dial, WBML signed on the mid-1940s. During the 1950s and '60s WBML established itself as the station to turn to for breaking news. Station management placed mobile units on the streets of Macon throughout most of the day and night.

Westgate Mall (Macon, Georgia)
Westgate Shopping Center (aka Westgate Mall) was the first fully enclosed shopping mall in Georgia. It opened in 1961, which was a year after Eastwood opened in Birmingham. Like Eastwood, Westgate had no department store anchors, though the mall was prominently anchored by JJ Newberry's (much like Eastwood). Like most of the earliest malls, they did not affect downtown shopping since they had few anchors and a smaller selection of choices.
Claude Smith Field
Claude Smith Field is a 500-seat baseball stadium on the campus of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, United States. The facility has a press box, concession stands, and additional berm seating along the right field fence. Mercer, with athletic teams known as the Mercer Bears, is a founding member of the Atlantic Sun Conference and is the only private university in Georgia with an NCAA Division I athletic program. The facility is named for Claude Smith, Mercer baseball coach from 1948-77.

Otis Ray Redding, Jr. (September 9, 1941 – December 10, 1967) was an American singer and songwriter, record producer, arranger and talent scout. He is considered one of the greatest singers in popular music and a major artist in soul music and rhythm and blues. His singing style has been influential among the soul artists of 1960s and helped exemplify the Stax Sound. After appearing at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, he wrote and recorded "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" with Steve Cropper.
