Bibb County, Georgia
Bibb County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. On July 31, 2012, by a margin of 57% to 43%, voters in the county approved a measure to consolidate Bibb County with the county seat, Macon and dissolve the government of the only other incorporated municipality in the county, Payne. As of the 2010 census, the population was 155,547. Bibb County is part of the Macon Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Payne, Georgia
Payne, more commonly known as Payne City, is a small city in Bibb County, Georgia, United States. It is an enclave completely surrounded by the city of Macon, and is the only other incorporated area in the county. The population was 178 at the 2000 census. Payne was originally a company town for a Bibb Manufacturing textile mill, founded in 1899. Though the mill is closed today, its former site houses several small businesses.

Mount de Sales Academy (Georgia)
Mount de Sales Academy is an independent Catholic, college preparatory school in Macon, Georgia. It was founded in 1876 by five Sisters of Mercy as a boarding school for girls across the South, it became coeducational in 1959 and closed boarding school operations in 1963. The Sisters served in an administrative capacity until 2002 when the first lay head of school in the school's history was selected by the Mount de Sales Academy Board of Trustees.

Macon State College was a four-year state college unit of the University System of Georgia. On Jan. 8, 2013, it was merged with Middle Georgia College into a new institution, known as Middle Georgia State College. Macon State College was formerly Macon College and Macon Junior College. It was located in Macon, Georgia, with a satellite campus in Warner Robins, Georgia as well as the Robins Resident Center, located on Robins Air Force Base.
Westside High School (Macon, Georgia)
Westside High School is a public high school located in Macon, Georgia. Opened in 1997, it is the largest school in the Bibb County school district. They educate students in grades 9-12. Pat Coxsey was the school's principal from Westside's establishment in 1997 until her retirement in 2006. Westside's current principal is Dr. Julia M. Daniely.
Windsor Academy
Windsor Academy is a private school in Bibb County, Georgia. It was founded in 1970 to serve students in the area south of Macon, around the same time that many other segregation academies were created. Located on Jones Road, it was originally financed by the memberships of ten families. The school provides education from preschool to high school, primarily following a liberal arts model with Christian influence.

Westgate Mall (Macon, Georgia)
Westgate Shopping Center (aka Westgate Mall) was the first fully enclosed shopping mall in Georgia. It opened in 1961, which was a year after Eastwood opened in Birmingham. Like Eastwood, Westgate had no department store anchors, though the mall was prominently anchored by JJ Newberry's (much like Eastwood). Like most of the earliest malls, they did not affect downtown shopping since they had few anchors and a smaller selection of choices.
Claude Smith Field
Claude Smith Field is a 500-seat baseball stadium on the campus of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, United States. The facility has a press box, concession stands, and additional berm seating along the right field fence. Mercer, with athletic teams known as the Mercer Bears, is a founding member of the Atlantic Sun Conference and is the only private university in Georgia with an NCAA Division I athletic program. The facility is named for Claude Smith, Mercer baseball coach from 1948-77.

Middle Georgia State College is an institution that was formed from the consolidation of Middle Georgia College, which was established in 1884, and Macon State College, which was established in 1965. The new college was created by action of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents on January 8, 2013. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools approved the consolidation in December 2012.
