Florida Atlantic University

Florida Atlantic University, also referred to as FAU or Florida Atlantic, is a public university located in Boca Raton, Florida with six satellite campuses located in the Florida cities of Dania Beach, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, and in Fort Pierce at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution. Florida Atlantic serves a seven-county region that has a populace of more than three million people and spans more than 100 miles (160 km) of Florida's eastern coastline.

Mizner Park

Pearl City (Boca Raton)

Pearl City is a neighborhood in Boca Raton, Florida, immediately north of downtown. The neighborhood was originally platted on May 30, 1915 for the blue-collar African Americans employed at the Boca Raton Resort and similar establishments, on area farms, in construction, and various other jobs. There is little evidence on the origin of the name, but it is often theorized that Pearl City was named after the Hawaiian pearl pineapple, a major crop grown in the area at the time.

Africa U.S.A. Park

Africa USA was an African wildlife tourist attraction that was open from 1953 until 1961. The park was located in Boca Raton, Florida on 300 acres of land near U.S. 1. Africa USA was truly a theme park before its time, with animals allowed to roam free. Even though Disney's Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World was hailed as a new concept, the idea had existed some 45 years prior in South Florida. Walt Disney was a frequent visitor to Africa USA and considered purchasing it.

FAU Baseball Stadium

FAU Baseball Stadium is a baseball venue located in Boca Raton, Florida, USA. It has been home to the Florida Atlantic Owls baseball team of the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference since 1991. The venue has a capacity of 2,000 spectators and features Triple-A-quality lighting. In 2012, college baseball writer Eric Sorenson ranked the stadium as the fifth best small venue in Division I baseball.
